The Rams Athletic Complex have officially opened their doors for business. The 30,000 square foot indoor facility is the home of the Boston Jr. Rams AAU Baseball program and is located at 23 Concord St. (off exit 39 on Interstate 93).
Inside the baseball complex is a full-size diamond infield that has been laid with synthetic Field Turf and will be surrounded by six hitting tunnels that stand 75 feet long, 15 feet wide and 22 feet high. Four of the six tunnels will feature turf mounds. In the back of the fields will be a 2,000 square foot strength and conditioning area, that will feature programs and equipment for weightlifting, cardiovascular and ply metric exercises. This will be the first year that the Jr. Rams will utilize an off-season condition program for their players to follow. The second floor of the building will have a classroom, alongside the program’s coaches and instructors offices that the Rams wish to utilize with for mental baseball training programs as well.
Off-season private skills clinics have also been set up through three different sessions running from the months of October through December.
The Boston Jr. Rams will begin off-season training at the R.A.C. during the month of October. Each team's calendars have been updated with times for your team's hitting sessions.
The Boston Jr. Rams AAU Baseball program will sponsor 10 teams during the 2012 calendar season from ages 10-17. Founded in 2007 by Suffolk University Head Baseball Coach Cary McConnell and Mejia, one of his college team’s assistant coaches, the program has nearly quadrupled since its inception.
