All-Purpose Erik Jones Set to Lead the Roaders Toward 2015

After completing a stellar junior season in 2014, where the quarterback/running back/wide receiver/defensive back & kick returner amassed over 1700 all-purpose yards, 14 TD's and 5 school records, Erik Jones is set to lead the 2015 Railroader edition on the gridiron. For the 2014 season Jones averaged over 9 yards per carry while rushing for 662 yards and 8 TD's; averaged 33 yards per return for kicks while amassing 692 yards and 5 TD's; completed 57% of his passes for 186 yards and 1 TD; caught 4 passes for 33 yards; returned 3 punts for 68 yards; kicked 4 PAT's and ran for 1 2-point conversion; and for good measure added 1 defensive score while returning an interception 50 yards for a TD. On the defensive side of the ball Erik added 40 total tackles, 5 for loss; 2 interceptions, 6 pass break ups and 1 blocked kick. From the past 2 seasons Jones has totaled 1424 yards and 7 TD's on kickoff returns alone. The 2016 graduate ended the 2014 season with 92 total points, earning him second team All-MVAL honors as a defensive back and honorable mention status as a multi-threat QB. The junior speedster is a 3 sport athlete at Brunswick maintaining a 3.29 GPA, where he also excels in Basketball and Track.
