The combine will be open to any football athlete chosen by the head coach at the high school.

The same groups who organized and conducted events at the previous combines would be called on to continue in the same capacity as before.
    Film Day: Joe Russo
Due to recent NCAA regulation changes the MFCA can no longer use the University of Maryland as a host of Film Night.

Super 100: Joe Russo / Doug Duvall
The MFCA will again hold the Super 100 combine for the top football players in the state based on performances at the April combine and selected other recruitable athletes.
The tentative date is May 16 or May 23 at a site to be determined.
Senior All-Star Games: Joe Russo / Doug Duvall / Al Thomas / Steve Turnbaugh
There are currently five senior All-star games being contested around the state: PG v. SMAC, Baltimore County v. Baltimore City, Eastern Shore, BTC, and the Crab Bowl.
A number of issues have reached President Russo and the MFCA has some concerns.
Al Thomas (Head Coach of the Washington Area team) and Steve Turnbaugh (Asst. Coach Baltimore Area team) both spoke about the Crab Bowl. Both reported generally favorable responses regarding the organization and treatment of the players. Both alluded to some internal problems with the directors of the Crab Bowl. Coach Thomas further mentioned that he thought the Crab Bowl would continue and that they were interested in compromising with the MFCA over some policy issues regarding the Crab Bowl. If the MFCA wants to have a “State All-Star” game Coach Thomas feels the Crab Bowl is our best alternative.
Numerous coaches from several different jurisdictions laid out complaints about the Crab Bowl and it directors.
Several ideas were proposed regarding the Crab Bowl and the other major All-Star games; including establishing an “All-Star Weekend.”
It was decided that a “State All-Star Game Committee” would be formed under the leadership of Al Thomas. The committee would meet to coordinate their ideas and then that group would propose to meet with Sean O’Connor and Chuck Harmon (Crab Bowl directors) in an attempt to work out a compromise that all interested factions could agree to honor. If this meeting can not be worked out then the MFCA will not sanction or support the Crab Bowl All-Star game.
Hall of Fame Nominations: Joe Russo
This year’s banquet will be held at M&T Bank Stadium on February 13, 2010.
This year’s class will include three Hall of Fame coaches and three John Voight Awards. At this time there will be no Service to Football Award winner.

Photo Day for the All-State team is January 21, 2010 at Hammond HS starting at 1:00PM.
Tickets are $45.00 each and can be secured from Jan Duvall by February 7, 2010.
    All-Academic, All-State Team – Doug Duvall
Doug Duvall and Dave Dolch have committed to creating an All-Academic, All-State team. This year they will use data collected from the schools by several coaches who have volunteered to collect nominations from high school coaches in their region.
The selection committee will be anonymous. The goal is to create a team of 24-26 players; 11 offense, 11 defense, an athlete or two, and a punter and kicker.
The selection of an all inclusive All-Academic team for the 2009 football season that is similar to the College All-Academic All-America team. The plan is to pick the best player with the highest academic credentials at each position.
Minimum academic requirements include a 3.25 GPA and 1100 SAT score. All nominees must have been chosen to some All-County, City or regional team. Coaches have been contacted by a regional representative to send in nominations.
    Credentialed Coaches: Joe Russo
It was mentioned that the concept of credentialed coaches would be brought up at the Maryland Board of Control meeting. Few details were known but it is believed that every coach in the MPSSAA would be required to become a “Credentialed Coach” or risk losing their position.
    More details to follow.
