     Welcome Weather
Welcome to the home of the
    Ancaster Little League Charity Game

    Thank You
Thank you to everyone who participated in the game today.
Please understand that your efforts made a difference for a bunch of kids who don't have things as good as you. While it may have only felt like you were playing baseball, you were actually doing much more.
Thanks also to all the adult volunteers, Alex Patry for donating all the food, Tammy Butt for donating all the water, the umpires for donating their time, Andy Childs for donating the Phoenix Fitness gift certificates, and Jennifer Miller for doing so much work behind the scenes.
Hope you're all in for next year.

What you need to know for Monday
    Folks:
To those of you who've signed up to play, thanks so much for your willingness to get involved and help some kids who really need it.
Here's what you need to know for Monday.
Please be at the Community Centre diamonds (behind Morgan Firestone Arena) by 8 a.m.
Bring your baseball stuff, your health card number and a phone number your parents can be reached at during the day.
Water and a barbecue lunch will be provided for free to all volunteers. But if you need a snack, please bring that.
We are going ahead rain or shine. There are reports we may get some showers. So, you may want to bring some kind of raincoat or something in case we get a downpour at some point. The usual rules regarding lightning will apply of course. That said, this is a marathon game so even if we have to stop for a while, we're going to stick with it until 6 p.m. (Rookie ball kids, 1 p.m.)
Parents, please be back at the park at the appropriate time to get your kids.
If you are an adult who's willing to stay and volunteer, we'll find something for you to do. We appreciate your help.
DO NOT bring cash to go to the charity. We ask that you add up whatever donations you got and write a cheque in that amout made out to The Robert Land Community Association. Please know that none of your money is going to us for anything. Zero. It all goes to the charity.
We will have a small silent auction for some gift certificates generously donated by Phoenix Fitness.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to let me know.
    Thanks again.
    Scott Radley

    We're Doing It Again!
Last year while watching close to 50 players from the minor division of Ancaster's Little League play a marathon baseball game to raise money for charity, we started thinking about how we could do it even better this year.

    So we will.

On Monday June 29, we're once again going to play some ball and raise some money for the Robert Land Community Association's baseball program. You can read about why we do it and why we've chosen them by licking on Links on the left.

However, this year we're opening the game up to all four age groups in the league from t-ball to major. Beginning at 8 a.m., t-ball will play for four hours, rookie ball will go for five hours, and major and minor will continue for 10 hours until 6 p.m.

The cost to play remains the same as last year. Every player must raise at least $50 to participate. They can ask family or friends or grandparents or neighbours or just pull it out of their piggy bank. Fifty is the minimum.

Every cent raised goes to the charity. We have no overhead and no expenses. All the helpers are volunteering including the umpires who will be working for free.

This is the first weekday after school ends. We figured this was a great way to kick off the summer vacation, do something helpful, have some fun and get plenty of practice, all in one shot.

If there's any way you can make it, please do.

If you're an adult who would like to help for even part of the day, please do.

If you or someone you know would like to donate to the cause, please do.

All those who intend on playing should click on the e-mail mailbox on the left and send a note indicating they're planning on attending so we can figure out how many diamonds, umpires and other people we'll need.

More information on the nitty gritty of how we're doing things will follow so check this web site regularly.

Thanks for helping a whole bunch of kids who need it.

    Things to know:

    1. Games will start for everyone at 8 .m.

    2. T-Ball will wrap up at noon. Rookie ball will be done at 1 p.m. Minor and Major will finish at 6 p.m.

    3. A cash barbecue will be open at noon when we take a break from playing. Hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks and stuff will be available at a low cost.

    4. The plan is for water to be provided throughout the day thanks to a number of generous donors and sponsors.

    5. There are no pledge forms. When you show up at 8 a.m., bring a cheque in the total amount raised made out to The Robert Land Community Association. You will be asked to sign a paper registering your total so it is fully accounted for in the final tally. Further, no cheques made out to any particular person or Ancaster Little League will be accepted. We want to make absolutely sure there is no cross-over with the league's revenues. This is a seperate entity with absolutely 100 per cent of all money raised going directly to the charity. We have no overhead costs at all for this.

    6. If your child is unable to play, he or she may still raise money for the cause. Last year a number of children contributed but did not play.

    7. If you as an adult care to make a donation either personally or on behalf of a business, that's much appreciated.

    8. If your son or daughter must leave early or arrive late, that's OK.

    9. Adult volunteers are needed to help throughout the day, particularly on field feeding the pitching machine and helping keep the games moving. If you are interested, please click on the e-mail box on the left and let us know.

    10. Donations of equipment are welcome. We simply ask that whatever is given is either new or in good shape. Cleats, gloves, unused baseballs, bats, batting helmets or anything else are welcome.
