Midnight Madness is Almost Here! Don't Miss It - Friday November 20, 2009 9:30-11 p.m.
Midnight Madness will be held on Friday, November 20, 2009 from 9:30-11 p.m. in the WCHS Main Gym. Doors open at 9 p.m. Meet the 2009-10 Bulldogs players and staff. There will be fan contests, music, player introductions and concessions/giveaways. This is an evening you won't want to miss as the Bulldogs kick-off the 2009-10 season!
Bulldogs Face Challenging 2009-10 Schedule
Churchill will play 12 varsity home games as part of a challenging 22-game 2009-10 regular season slate to be followed by participation in the MPSSAA Boys Basketball Championships beginning in late February 2010. Churchill will open the season with two consecutive road games beginning on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 7 p.m. when the Bulldogs travel to Kennedy HS to play the Cavaliers. Churchill returns home for its home opener on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 as the Bulldogs will host the Magruder HS Colonels at 7 p.m. During the 2009-10 season, Churchill will play home/away games with 4A West opponents BCC, Northwest, Richard Montgomery, Walter Johnson, Whitman, and Wootton. In addition, the Bulldogs will host Clarksburg, Gaithersburg and Seneca Valley as well as the 2009 Bobby Miller Holiday Classic on December 29-30, 2009 featuring Bel Air HS, Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School and Watkins Mill HS. In perhaps its biggest road test of the season, Churchill faces two-time defending MPSSAA Class 4A Champion Springbrook on Friday, December 18, 2009 at Springbrook HS. Churchill Renames Holiday Classic in Memory of Bobby Miller

The Churchill Holiday Basketball Classic to be held on December 29-30, 2009 was recently renamed the "Bobby Miller Bulldog Classic" in memory of Bobby Miller thanks to a collaborative effort of the WCHS Booster Club and the WCHS Administration as well as the generous support of Town & Country Movers. Bobby Miller, who passed away in April 2009, was an instrumental part of the WCHS basketball community and coached many current and former WCHS players. Please join us on December 29-30, 2009 as we honor Bobby's memory with this tournament.
Player Forms Due Monday November 9, 2009

All player forms required by WCHS and MCPS to tryout must be completed and turned-in to the Coach Miller or Coach Jones by no later than Monday November 9, 2009. The forms can be found on the menu tab "Player Forms" found on this website. You must also pay the ECA fee and parents and players must sign and turn-in the Shared Expectations document available exclusively from Coach Miller and Coach Jones (the document that was distributed at the mandatory organizational meeting on September 21, 2009 - see below).
Mandatory Player/Parent Meeting
A mandatory meeting was held on September 21, 2009 in the WCHS Auditorium for all boys in grades 9-12 (and their parents) interested in trying out for either of the the varsity or junior varsity boys basketball teams this season. If you missed this meeting and are interested in trying out, you must see Coach Miller to learn about the expectations, timeframes, required MCPS forms and other critical Fall/Winter information regarding the Winston Churchill boys basketball program.
