Post Season Awards
The Varsity Baseball team will hold it's Post-Season awards on Thursday June 4th at 5:30 in the cafeteria at school. Junior Varsity will have their post-season awards on June 16th at Arora Hills at 4:00.

Creighton, Milligan Named to MABC

Seniors Josh Creighton and Brendan Milligan were namend to the Mid Atlantic Baseball Classic All Star Game. The game will be played at Municipal Stadium in Hagerstown, MD. on May 31st. Please visit www.leaguelineup.com/mabc for more information.

Today's game (Poolesville) is cancelled. We will practice from 2:30 - 3:30 and then have a brief meeting with Tommy Davis (American Legion Coach). The players should be dismissed at 3:45.
Both Northwest Games Postponed

Both the Varsity and Junior Varsity games have been postponed. The Varsity will practice in the small gym from 2:15 - 3:30. The JV will practice in the small gym from 2:45 - 4:00.
Both teams need to be prepared to play a game tomorrow Tuesday May 5th. JV will host Northwest or Poolesville (working that out as I write) and the Varsity will travel to Poolesville for a 5:15 game.

Varsity Game Cancelled

The Varsity baseball game at Poolesville HS has been postponed. The game will be made up on Tuesday May 5th at 5:15. Players are to report to Coach Gant's classroom at the beginning of lunch on Monday. We will travel to Northwest HS on Monday May 4th for a 5:15 game. If you are able to drive, please let Coach Gant know. We will leave CHS at 3:45.
Varsity Update

Coyotes Send Seniors out with a win

The Coyotes defeated Northwood HS 13-3 on Senior Day. Senior Josh Creighton pitched a complete game (5 inning) allowing just 1 earned run while striking out 9. Josh also added a base hit to go with a walk and run scored on the day. Senior Brendan Milligan went 3-3 on the day while driving in 3 and scoring 3 runs. "Brendan is really seeing the ball well and being very patient at the plate" commented Coach Gant after the game. Senior Cody Martin added a pair of RBI's on his 2 hits, while scoring a run.
Junior Joey Nelson added a pair or triples, while Sophomore Andrew Lyles added a single and a double. Brody Milligan reached base 4 times as he drew 2 walks and reached on an error and a base hit.
Overall, the Coyotes 13 hits, while accumulating 8 walks.
The Coyotes are back in action Saturday as tehy travel to Poolesville HS for a 2:30 game.

Senior Pitcher Brendan fired a 1 hit shutout in defeating Einstein HS 11-0. Milligan allowed only 3 baserunners (1 hit, 2 walks) while firing 47 strikes. Milligan also struck out 9 on the day. Brendan also had 2 doubles and drove in 3 runs. Sophomore Andrew Lyles went 3-3 and had 3 RBI in his first Varsity start. SS Palmer Scalzi added 2 hits and scored 3 runs while driving in a pair.
The Coyotes are back in action Saturday as they take on the Kennedy Cavaliers in a make up game that has been moved to Whitman HS at 10:00 AM.
Coyotes Beat BCC 13-5

Behind a complete game 5 hitter by Joey Nelson, the Coyotes cruised to a 13-5 win at BCC. Offensively, the Coyotes were lead by Brady Lyles (3-4), Brody Milligan (2-5 2 doubles and 4 RBI).
The Coyotes went ahead 1-0 on an RBI off the bat of Brendan Milligan in the top of the 2nd. Brendan also delivered a 2 out RBI in the 4th in a clutch situation. After surrendering the lead 4-3 in the 3rd, the Coyotes sent 12 batters to the plate in the 6 run 4th inning.
The Coyotes will be back in action on Friday as they travel to Einstein for a 3:30 start.
Games Postponed

Both games scheduled for today (April 22nd JV vs. Kennedy, Varsity vs. Blake) have been postponed. Both the Varsity and JV will practice 2:30 - 4:00. Make up dates and times will be announced as soon as we get them.
Blake Varsity Game Suspended

The Varsity baseball game vs. Blake HS has been suspended. The game will continue in the top of the 4th inning exactly where it was when the lightning happened. The game is tentatively (awaiting umpire approval) scheduled to be completed tomorrow (Wednesday April 22nd) after the completion of the JV game vs. Kennedy HS.
Coyotes Drop Tought One 6-5 to Seneca Valley

The Coyotes raced out to a 5-0 lead after 2 innings but could not hold on. Senior Josh Creighton drove in 2 runs with a double and then scored an a Seneca error in the 3 run first. The Coyotes added 2 more in the 2nd on an rbi 2B by Brendan Milligan who thne scored on an RBI groundout by Brody Milligan. Seneca chipped back with 4 in the 3rd, and 2 in the bottom of the 6th.
The Coyotes will be back in action on Monday as they host Kennedy HS.
Coyotes Welcome Mr. Wims

The Coyotes defeated Wheaton HS 11-1 in 5 innings today. The game began with Mr. F. Wilson Wims throwing out the first pitch. Mr. Wims is a longtime community leader in Clarksburg and the Clarksburg HS field is named for him. Mr. Wims threw out the first pitch to Senior Catcher Josh Creighton as Seniors Brendan Milligan and Cody Martin assisted Mr. Wims. In the game, Sophomore Pitcher/3B Justin Cox picked up his forst win of the season as he allowed just one run in his 3 innings of work. Cox allowed just 3 hits and a pair of walks. Offensively, the Coyotes were lead by Brody Milligan (4-4, 4 RBI). Sophomore Chris Jimenez had a pair of hits and stole a base. Cody Martin added 2 RBI on the game. The Coyotes will be back in action tomorrow as they travel to Seneca Valley for a 1:30 game.
Coyotes Defeat Watkins Mill

The Coyotes defeated Watkins Mill HS in their first game back after Spring Break. Sophomore Pitcher Justin Pfeiffer picked up his first varsity win on the mound. Pfeiffer threw 4 shutout innings while striking out 8. Offensively, the Coyotes were lead by Seniors Josh Creighton (2-3 1B, 2B, 3 RBI), Cody Martin 2-2 1B, 3B, 4 RBI) and Brendan Milligan (2-2, 3 RBI)
Games Postponed

Today's (April 15th) Varsity and JV Baseball games are postponed. They are rescheduled for tomorrow April 16th at 3:30. Varsity will be at W. Mill, JV will host W. Mill.
JV will meet in the locker room at 2:30 for approximately 15 minutes. The Varsity will practice in the small gym at 2:30 and finish at 3:30.

Coyotes Bounce Back, Defeat Gaithersburg

On a sunny, windy day, the Coyotes earned their first win of the season defeating Gaithersburg HS 10-6. Junior Joey Nelson picked up the win in relief, hurling 3 2/3 innings of 1 run ball. Offensively, the Coyotes were lead by Junior Derek Hall (3-4, 2B, RBI). Hall caught several innings behind the plate (throwing out a baserunner trying to steal 2B) as well as pitched 2/3 of an inning. Senior Cody Martin added 2 hits on the day and scored 2 runs. "Cody is swinging the bat well, using the whole field" commented Coach Gant after the game. Senior Brendan Milligan added 2 RBI, including the go ahead (and eventual game winner) run in the top of the 6th inning. Sophomore LF/SS/P Justin Pfeiffer added a clutch 2 run single in the top of the 4th as a pinch hitter. Overall, the Coyotes had 12 hits, including 3 doubles.
The Coyotes will be back in action on Wednesday, April 15th, as they travel to Watkins Mill HS
Coyotes Lose Tought One To Damascus

After going down 7-1, the Coyotes clawed their way all the way back, losing 8-7. After allowing Damascus a 1 run lead after the first inning, Sophomore LF Justin Pfeiffer (2-3, HR, 2 RBI, BB) launched his first career Home Run of the season. Entering the bottom half of the 4th inning, the Coyotes were down 7-1. In the home half of the 4th, Pfeiffer walked, advanced 2 bases on Wild Pitches, and scored on an error. In the 5th, the Coyotes tacked on 3 more runs as Sophomore Brody Milligan (4-4, 3 singles, Triple) Senior Cody Martin, and Sophomore Justin Cox scored. In the 6th, down 8-5, Sophomore Palmer Scalzi walked and scored on Brody Milligan's RBI Triple. WIth one out, Senior Brendan Milligan doubled in his brother, but was thrown out trying to score from second on a Justin Cox single.
Overall, the Coyotes belted 10 hits. Seniors Devin Reeves and Cody Martin added hits in the tough loss.

Both the Varsity and Junior Varsity games have been postponed for today March 28th. THe JV will attempt to make up their game Monday March 30th at 3:30. THe JV make up has been confirmed. There is no school that day, so please meet in the locker room at 2:00. The Varsity game will be tentatively made up on March 8th. Cougars Too Much To Handle

Senior Pitcher/Catcher Josh Creighton held Quince Orchard in chech for 4 strong innings. Quince Orchard scored single runs in the 3rd (on a balk) and 4th (after a hit batter and a couple of errors). Overall, Josh pitched extremely well in the tough loss. Senior Brendan Milligan and Sophomore Brody Milligan had the only hits for the Coyotes. Sophomore Catcher Justin Cox played well in his first start at Catcher of his Varsity career. The Coyotes will be back in action on Saturday as they host Kennedy High School. Mr. F. Wilson Wims will be in attendance to throw out the first pitch.
Coyotes Open Season With Loss To Churchill

The Coyotes suffered a tough loss to open up the 2009 campaign. After posting an 8-1 lead after the first inning, Churchill chipped away and eventually tied it in the 5th. Clarksburg went back up by one in the 7th as Sophomere 3B Justin Cox walked, advanced to second on a single by Sophomore Chris Jimenez, and eventually scored on a Sac Fly off the bat of Sophomore SS Palmer Scalzi.
The Coyotes were lead offensively bySophomore Brody Milligan (2-5 HR, Double, 3 RBI), Senior Catcher Josh Creighton (3-4 with a double), and Sophomore Palmer Scalzi (1-3 3 run double, Sac Fly 4 RBI). Sophomore CF Chris Jimenez also added 2 hits on the day.
The Coyotes will be back in action on Tuesday, MArch 24th as they host Quince Orchard HS at 3:30. THe JV will travel to QO.
Northwest Scrimmages

The Junior Varsity scrimmage will not be made up. The JV should be prepared to practice immediately after school on Wednesday.

Saturday Scrimmages at Walkersville On As Scheduled

As of Friday morning, the scrimmages are on as scheduled. The JV will play at 10:00 and 12:30 at Heritage Farm Park # 4. The Varsity will play at 10:00 and 12:30 at Walkersville HS. Directions to both locations can be found by going to "Directions" on the left hand side. It will take approximately 40 minutes from Clarksburg HS.
Please check this website before you leave. The Coaches plan on speaking Saturday morning on field conditions. The website will be updated if there are any changes.
Linganore Scrimmages Cancelled

Thursday's Scrimmages have been cancelled. The JV and Varsity will plan on scrimmaging at Walkersville HS and/or Heritage Farm Park. Scrimmage times are set for 10:00 and 12:30 at this point. With weather issues, times may need to be adjusted. We will update the website as soon as decisions are made.

Monday March 2nd tryouts are cancelled due to MCPS schools's closing. All players need to be prepared for a Tuesday tryout. Times and locations will be anounced at lunch Tuesday. Players are to report to Coach Gant's room (231) at lunch to find out what time Tuesday's tryout will be. Saturday Tryout Times Announced

Saturday February 28th tryouts will be from 7:30 - 9:30 in the morning. All interested players are to be ready to start promptly at 7:30. There will be an indoor and outdoor session, so please be ready for both.
