2009 NBYFC JR. PEE WEE
CHAMPIONS

CONGRATULATIONS to the Jr. Pee Wee's for for winning the NBYFC Jr. Pee Wee Championship on Sunday agianst the Ukiah Lions 12-0

It was a wet and cold morning in Santa Rosa as Dixon and Ukiah prepared to battle for the NBYFC championship. The conditions were wet and cold but it didn’t bother the fans. They were excited and loud cheering for both teams as they walked onto the field. The game began and Dixon’s defense came out strong and hard as they pounded Ukiah’s offense all day long, causing fumbles and mistakes. Dixon set the tone early in the game as Ukiah’s offense could only come up with two or three first downs all day. However, Ukiah’s defense put up a fight slowing down the Dixon offense to only scoring 6 pts. during the first half it was a 1 yard run by Max Gorham. After the second half, head coach Erik Holtemann said, “We coached up the kids at half time, and told them that this was our game, to go out there and win it. They did!” Cameron Garlick tore off a 30 yard off tackle play scoring the second touchdown of the day, leaving it up to the Dixon defense to conquer the Ukiah Lions. They are, George Raymond, George Fountain, Joey Baker, Alex Cole, Austin Coyle, KC Holtemann, Cameron Garlick, Bryce Nakamura, Max Gorham, Cameron Bibby, Matt Hendrix, Marcus Scott, Joey Jurardo and the Haywood brothers. It has been a great defensive year for these kids, they played tough every game all year. Offensively, the kids blocked well as Ukiah brought up eight guys in the box to stop Dixon’s powerful running game. Eventually Dixon opened up some big holes for Garlick, Nakamura and Gorham. Ben Nefger did a great job protecting the ball on a wet day. You have to love the offensive line they worked hard all day, they are, Justin Curry, Sam Palchick, Dylan Wentz, Jacob Arnold, Jesse Camarillo, Matt Howitson, Jacob Robinson, Andy Woltjen, Xavier Wabaunsee and Bibby. Those kids put up 305 points this year. They should be proud of themselves and their 13-0 record. They are true “Champions”. Coach Holtemann would like to thank his staff they are, head offensive coach Steve Nakamura, Juan Moreno, Mario Gomez and Bill Baker who worked hard with the defense and offensive line. “This is one to remember, 13-0 Champions”.

LOSS TO THE DYFC FAMILY
It is with great sorrow we have to report, Dixon Youth Football has lost a near and dear friend. Lewis Wentworth, better known as “ Grandpa Lewie” passed away on Saturday May 9th. Lewie was the Great Grandfather of Kyle and Anthony Riley. DYFC, not only lost one of its biggest supporter’s but an all around “Great Guy”. Lewie was always there to lend a helping hand and to let us coaches know when we were not doing it right. He will be deeply missed by so many of us.

In Loving Memory of
Lewis Wentworth

Fly Fisherman, Skier, World Traveler, Sometimes Woodcutter,
Home Repair Consultant, No. 1 Great Grandfather and All Around Good Guy!

"Only The Best"

A heart of gold stopped beating,
two shining eyes at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove,
He only takes the best.

God knows you had to leave us,
but you did not go alone,
for part of DYFC went with you,
the day He took you home.

To some you are forgotten,
to others just part of the past,
but to us who loved and lost you,
the memory will always last.

Game Day Rules
Absolutely NO alcohol, drugs, or smoking is allowed.

Service dogs only are allowed. No other dogs are permitted. This is not just a Dixon Youth Football & Cheer rule, but a school rule as well. If you bring your non-service dog to a game you will be asked to leave. This includes away games, so please leave them at home.

ONLY the playing team’s coaches, players, and volunteers are allowed on the sidelines during the game. This is very important as the team playing needs to be focused on what they are doing and all of these additional people can be a distraction.

Boys – we know you enjoy hanging out after your own game, but you may not do this on the side lines. Please sit in the stands and watch the game with your friends.

NO playing football on the field or at the ends of the field during the game or halftime performances. Not only is this disrespectful, it is also dangerous to those out on the field.

Please be respectful of the Cheerleaders and do not start stadium chants while they are doing their cheers. We know that you want to cheer on your kids, but try to do so when the cheerleaders are not in the middle of a cheer. They have worked just as hard and want to be able to show everyone their Dixon Ram Spirit.

Last but not least, we are borrowing the field for our games and we need to remember to take care of it. Please make sure that you clean up after yourself before you leave.
