Dynasty 79 Self Control 71

This game was a slug fest that went all 12 rounds. These veteran squads could not decide a winner until the third overtime.
The physicality in the first half was at a premium, which most would believe would favor the football team filled Dynasty team but to the contrary it got them into early foul trouble and their heads out of the game. This was evident by the 10 point lead by Self Control going into the half, which had been topped off by a last second buzzer-beater turn around 3pt shot by Sean Calnan.
The second half was an entirely different story, Dynasty roars back to erase the lead in the first 5 minutes then takes a late lead in the last 5 minutes. As seconds ticked down in the end of regulation, two put backs by Sean Calnan that one referee claims were inches away from going in fall short and regulation in dramatic fashion.
To start the first overtime Self Control jumps out to a good size lead and it seemed to those in the audience the defending champions may fall. Down by three with less than two minutes left Dynasty is picked up by Sean Patterson hitting a big three tying the game at 59, where it would stay until the end of the first overtime.
Exhaustion starting to set in,the second overtime is ended by a near miss by "Big Shot" Bill Poletti (nickname provided by Sean Calnan) after an improbable bank shot 3 point by Tony Caligiuri to tie it with less than 30 seconds to go.
In the final overtime, the champion Dynasty proved to be too much for Self Control pulling away with Sean Patterson 3's and clutch foul shots.
Top Scorers were: Tony Caligiuri with 32 points and 10 rebounds for Self Control, and Sean Patterson with 28 pts and 9 rebounds. This was an amazing ending to a great season, simply put by Intramural Director Jason Brailey,"We couldn't have scripted this game any better."
