In a back and forth game with Tom Cats, Seufert P.A. came out on top with two on base in the bottom of the ninth and a hit to center field by pitcher, Cynthia Daniels. The final score was 11 to 9. Congratulations to Tom Cats for being the League's 2009 Runner-Up. Both teams finished with the top two records as well.
SPORTSMANSHIP AWARDS
As Franklin Women's Softball League always wants to emphasize the sportsmanship and friendship on and off the field, this year Umpire John Richardson decided the league should be giving out a special sportsmanship award to each team's deserving member. This year's recipients were:
Ryanne Pelletier from Seufert P.A. Ryanne is boistorous and encouraging, always showing up to games with a smile for her team.
Angela Balong from Tom Cats. Angela is a quiet source of good thoughts and cheerful, encouraging words for her players.
Sara Damour from Franklin's Finest. Sara is a positive and always encouraging member of her team, even when they are losing, she always has something positive to say.
Michelle Kelly from Skip's Chicks. Michelle plays first for Skip's Chicks and is always first with an encouraging comment or positive spin.
Sara Moores from Doherty Electric. Sara is a great member of her team, always having a permanent smile on her face and always cheering on her teammates.
These five women all deserve their awards as they always have something nice to say to their teammates and their leaguemates. Congratulations!
Special thanks to Franklin Savings Bank, CVS of Franklin and John Richardson for all donating to the Sportsmanship Awards for the Franklin Women's Softball League.
