Registration for the 2013 FYFL season opens this Wednesday, June 5 at McCurdy Field at 5pm.  Registration sessions will be held every Wednesday from 5-7pm and Saturday from 9am-noon in the months of June and July.  The cost is the same as it was for 2012 - $125 for tackle players plus a $100 equipment deposit, and $50 for flag players.

"Fit for Life" training sessions to start soon.  Take one of the 8 week sessions to get in shape and be ready for the 2013 football season.  Registration can be done through Frederick County government by sending an email to avagnoni@frederickcountymd.gov or calling 301-600-2383.  Details are as follows:

Three (3) Age Groups:  6-8 years old, 9-11 years old and 12-14 years old

Program Scope:  Warm-ups and S.A.Q. Drills (Speed, Agility and Quickness)

Cost:  $80/person

Time Involved:  One 1-Hour Session per Week for Eight (8) Weeks

If you registered online (on this website) you still need to come out to McCurdy Field. The registration process is not complete until you come out to McCurdy Field and get physical forms, get equipment and pay the registration fee. An athlete will NOT be placed on a team until the process is complete. We will be out at McCurdy Field Saturdays from 9am-noon and Wednesdays from 6-8pm during the months of June and July.

The Frederick Youth Football League is a non-profit organization charted to provide a positive after school program to assist our youth of Frederick County to achieve their highest potential as they develop their skill sets into caring, confident and competent individuals. Players ages 5-13*, male or female, who reside in Frederick County are eligible for play. Each season, approximately 250 children play on four varsity, junior varsity and flag teams. We are going into our 59th season, and hope you will join us for the upcoming 2012 season.

* Age cutoff is August 1st. 13 year olds entering the 9th grade are not eligible for play in FYFL. We encourage all Freshmen to play for their High School Team. *

Our objective is to implant firmly in the children of the community the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and reverence for authority so that they may be well adjusted, stronger, and happier children and will grow to be good, decent, healthy, and trustworthy citizens.

To achieve this objective FYFL will provide a supervised program under the rules and regulations of the league. All directors, officers, and members shall bear in mind that the attainment of exceptional athletic skills or the winning of game is secondary, and the molding of future citizens is of prime importance.

Develop the fundamentals of the game of football - stance, blocking, tackling, running, throwing, catching, conditioning and sportsmanship.

Develop the fundamentals of cheerleading - cheers, chants, jumps, stunts, good health and fitness, and sportsmanship.

Establish an understanding of the commitment necessary by the parents and the athletes in order to enhance success, both on and off the field.
