The 2013 season is quickly approaching and much preparation is needed both on
and off the field. The Red Raider baseball program is dedicated to offering each athlete
the opportunity to become equipped with the proper apparel. Because baseball is a spring
sport, it is imperative and required for us to order the necessary equipment and apparel at
this time in the year in order for us to receive the merchandise by baseball season. On the
following page is a list of items. But remember- time is of the essence therefore all order must be returned to the coaching staff by Thursday, November 9- no later. Please be advised due to the nature of the spring athletic season, we must order these items now in order to receive them in a timely manner. First Team Sports is the store that we order all of our apparel from. All checks will be made out directly to First Team in the amount that each athlete orders. Please add .06 sales tax to each order. We understand that because we have to order the merchandise now to receive it by the season, and not all athletes will make the baseball team does raise some concern. However, this is the only way we can assure the players getting their merchandise by game time. We would like all players and parents to understand that by ordering the baseball apparel this does not mean the child has made the baseball team. If you order and your child doesn’t make the team, First Team Sports will not be able to take back items. We must order early so things will be here in time for the season. Thank you for your understanding with this situation. Please sign below and return with check both forms by November 9, 2012. If this form is not returned and signed by parent and player the order will not be placed. Diamond Invitational Schedule
Thank you again for your participation in the 2013 South Carolina Diamond Invitational Tournament. As we are gearing up our preparation, I have a couple of things to pass on and a request.

First, you and your team will stay in the Holiday Inn Express here in Blythewood. The hotel is conveniently located near our school and depending on your mood, within walking distance. We have seven (7) rooms reserved for each team's coaching staff and players with an additional four (4) rooms blocked for each team's family. The team rooms are complimentary of the tournament and any additional blocked reservations will have reduced rates. As several of our SCDI participating teams will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express, and though it is a very nice hotel, it is limited in the number of rooms. Please notify your families of the location and encourage them to reserve rooms at their earliest convenience. When they make reservations, please ask them to state their reservation is for the South Carolina Diamond Invitational Baseball Tournament. Contact for the hotel is:

Second, attached you will find a copy of the tournament game schedule. We have attempted to accommodate teams as we know their needs. However, if you see any conflict, specifically on Thursday or Sunday, please let myself or Coach Mizzell know and we will attempt to accommodate your needs.

Lastly, SCDI will provide you, as the head coach, a complimentary SCDI jacket and two additional SCDI dry fit t-shirts. As well, each team player will be provided complimentary t-shirts. We would like to place our complete order by Dec. 1st. As a result, will you please provide me with your jacket size and the sizes of the two additional t-shirts. Understanding that your team members may not be finalized, will you please forward to me an approximate number of sized t-shirts your players will need (number of large, extra-large, etc. shirts needed).

Over the course of the next several months I will update you on specifics of the tournament and request additional team information. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

The tournament once again coincides with IP’s annual maintenance shutdown so the hotels fill up quickly in March so you may want to encourage your parents to go ahead and book their room if they plan to stay in the area. Thanks.
