RECRUITING PLAYERS
The Hamilton Women's Base Ball Club is currently accepting registrations from girls and women who would like to participate on teams in the 2012 season. Teams will be formed for ages 7/8 through adult.

The HWBBC will consist of 4 active divisions of play. Fees will be announced by Feb 15th and will include tournament fees, uniforming costs, umpires, and insurance. Subsidies and sponsorship will be actively sought by the committee and team managers to defray incurred costs.

The HWBBC provides developmental and competitive baseball for girls and women in 4 divisions of play, ages 7/8 through adult. Our objective is to provide supplementary and *developmental* teams for girls with a strong focus on FUN and female strength in sport.
Our players are encouraged to play on primary house league or rep sports teams including baseball, fast pitch, softball, soccer and hockey and to participate in both gender specific and mixed leagues. Our teams offer additional training, instruction, and baseball play. We strongly believe that specialization in youth sports is unnecessary and limiting. That it creates early burnout and greater potential of injury for young athletes. Children should continue to experiment and enjoy many activities until they are at least 15 or 16 years of age.

We offer developmental fun baseball experiences to girls and women who wish to excel, stay involved, keep fit, and play competitively against other female teams from centers across Ontario
We are dedicated to the basic foundational belief that baseball is a sport that is for both genders and can offer young women the same opportunities as their male peers with regards to physical enjoyment and potential scholarship opportunities. We believe that girls can play with boys but that female sporting events contribute to healthier relationships amongst women, greater athletic efforts, and higher self esteems. That baseball should be accessible to all girls regardless of age or geographic boundaries thus we endeavour to ensure that girls and women throughout the Hamilton area are equally recruited, invited, trained and that our teams are available to all without discrimination.
