Off Season Training Opportunity at Our Lady of Grace
April 10, 2013
Starting April 10th. There will be opportunities to train in Freestyle & Greco Roman wrestling on Wednesdays 6:30-8PM and Sundays 4:30-6PM at Our Lady of Grace. Go around back of the school to the activity room. Training sessions at OLG are free to all Hereford Jr. League, JV and Varsity Wrestlers. Take advantage of this great opportunity.
All wrestlers are required to have a current USA Wrestling Card. For more info contact Coach Strong
Asper 1 Match Short of All American

Unfortunately, Josh lost in the quarters to the #4 seed from Nebraska, then last night in the consolations, he wrestled the #7 seed from Illinois (w/whom he had split matches this year) & lost 6-5.
Josh's GREAT College career (150+ wins) came to a close, but the next chapter of his life & career is just about to start!
All the Hereford Coaches are so proud of the way Josh has wrestled, prepared himself to wrestle, carried himself on & off of the mat, been a mentor, been a role model, and how he has handled such TERRIFIC success and occasional defeat with class & grace!
Connor Strong Places 3rd at Jr. League States

Congrats to all who competed at the Jr. League States this past weekend in our final season tournament. Connor Strong placed 3rd in the toughest weight class in the state. Ryan Godfrey and Dylan Principio both competed and represented Hereford well, but fell just short of placing.

Anthony Genco placed 2nd in a very close 5-4 loss in the finals. Mike Swiger placed 6th. Dylan Gray and Brock Turnbaugh were both 1 win away from placing and were in the top 8. Great job guys!
Jr. League Places 3rd at MJWL Navy Dual Championships

Hereford Jr. League placed 3rd in this weekend's MJWL Navy Dual Championships. Hereford lost to eventual champion ESP Spartans and defeated Damascus Navy 43-42 for 3rd place.

Manchester Holiday Tournament

Tough weekend for Hereford Jr. League at the Manchester Holiday Tournament. However a great opportunity for the boys to see that we have a lot of work to do to get to the level of competition we saw Saturday & Sunday. Some bright spots were Indy Kousouris and Owen Bell placing 6th and Hereford putting 3 into the semifinals. Other notable performances were Ryan Godfrey 2-2, Dylan Principio 1-2, Josh Strong 1-2, Grayson McManus 1-2, Wes Porter 1-1, Luke Patterson 1-1.

Varsity Bulls Place 2nd at Bauerline Duals

Congrats to the Varsity for coming in 2nd & going 6-1 , at the Bauerline Duals this weekend. The Bulls put together a total team effort with contributions from all wrestlers. The unranked and unmentioned Bulls knocked off the #10 & #18 ranked Teams in the State & almost knocked off the # 7 ranked Team and returning state champion Urbana.
Jr. League Bulls go 2-0 this weekend!

Congrats to the Jr. League Bulls who defeated Woodlawn Navy 80-18 and Middle River Navy 52-30. Going 2-0 today were Josh Strong (55), Indy Kousouris (80), Billy Atkins (85) and John Jocuns (95 wrestling up 2 weight classes).
Varsity Bulls defeat Loch Raven & New Town
The Bulls picked up 2 wins against county opponents first by shutting out Lock Raven on Thursday, then nearly shutting out New Town on Friday. Great job guys!
Jr. League goes 1-2

The Bulls dropped 2 to Warriors Navy and Lehigh teams, but managed to win against Landsdowne Gators. Connor Strong went 3-0 on the day, while several others picked up wins.
