END-OF-SEASON BANQUET INFORMATION
On Saturday, November 21st starting at 5pm at the Siebenbuerger Club, we will celebrate the successful seasons our teams had this year. Players and families are invited to attend. A buffett and cash bar will be provided. An awards presentation will take place as well as we recognize the seniors and all the players and managers. Please look for your invite in the mail and RSVP by the requested date.
LADY COLONELS REACH PLAYOFFS FOR FIRST TIME
For the first time in school history, the Lady Colonels Varsity soccer team advanced to the District 10 post season as an At-Large team. In a modified tournament format, the Lady Colonels took on Warren in a play-in game, with the winner advancing to the first round to take on Region 4 champion Mercyhurst Prep. In a see-saw battle the Lady Colonels took the early lead on senior Morgyn Patterson's header from senior Julie Grygier's excellently placed corner kick. In the second half, Warren equalized quickly and the scored remained tied at the end of regulation. After two 10 minute overtimes failed to produce a winner, a penalty kick shootout had to be used to determine the winner. Warren was able to find the back of the net one more time than the Lady Colonels and won the game 2-1. It was a remarkable turn around for a team that fought through ups and downs all year. The seniors lead by example and inspired their teammates to do their best. That proved to be the difference in the end and ultimately lead the their first post season appearence in the school's history.
