League Suspends Two of The Dawgs Players for Two Games!
January 16, 2009
Beverly Hills, CA - As a result of the bench clearing brawl that took place in the 2nd game of the season against Winston’s Bar L.A., the Dawgs are forced to play the next two games without a couple of their key players who have been suspended by the league. How will they do without one of their key defensive stoppers John Mgdesyan, and their key post players George Mgdesyan? The rest of the team has no other choice but kick up their game a notch in order to keep the Club's streak of never missing the play-offs alive. Fortunately the season is young, however, next week's opponent Cougar Bait is a very strong and deep team who can score which could result in a very interesting game. Stay tuned …

Palm Springs, CA - The Law Dawgs Basketball Club was well represented in Palm Springs, California during the Hoop World 3on3 Tournament on March 15-16, 2008. The highlight of the tournament was the “Ballers” whom competed in the kids division. With the help and guidance of their coach Bernie Ghermezi the team was able to finish the first day of the tournament undefeated. The second day also started on a positive note when the Ballers blew out the competition scoring sixteen straight points to win the game with the final score of 16-2. With the win they were guaranteed the #1 seed going into the playoffs. During the championship game the Ballers faced a much bigger team; however that did not deter the squad from playing with style and grace. After it was all said and done the Ballers were proclaimed the champions, finishing the tournament with an impressive record of 5-0. A big congratulation to Jonathan, Guillermo, Jared, Avi and Coach Bernie on their impressive run to the championships!
Law Dawgs Win Their First Title!!
December 13, 2007
Beverly Hills, CA - After making it to the championship game for three years in a row and coming up short the Law Dawgs were determined to bring home the Club's first championship. The successful regular season would not have any meaning if the end result was another finals loss. Hence, when the 3-time defending champions Varsity took the floor the Law Dawgs were planning to dethrone them. The game started off slow with both teams playing tenacious defense. At half-time the score was 21-20 in the favor of the Dawgs. The second half also featured some great defense, however, the Dawgs managed to open up the scoring. Edward Hardy, II played at his usual all-star level. Along with the Dawgs' other big man, Hovhannes Nalbandyan, they scored a combined 39 points and lead the Dawgs to a 57-43 victory over their arch rivals Varsity. Congratulations to the entire Law Dawgs organization for their first championship, with wishes of many more in the future.
Season Notes - Edward Hardy was the team and league MVP leading all scores with a season average of 23.9 points a game. Hovhannes Nalbandyan won league rookie of the year AND sixth man of the year while averaging 9.3 points a game. Mike Mgdesyan was a consistent scoring threat the entire season with an average of 14.5 points a game. The Law Dawgs set a new franchise record for consecutive wins at 8.
