    A coach's farewell
As the 2008/2009 Season closes, there is sadness and excitement in the air. Friends have been separated to different teams, some didn’t make a team, some chose a different path and the Massapequa Twisters folded. I want to thank all the Twister players and parents for the great memories. I look forward to coaching the Massapequa Rebels. I know we will work hard and have fun in the upcoming years. There will always be a place in my heart and fond memories for the Massapequa Twisters.

I want to thank Ellen for all her assistance, support and friendship.

    Play hard! Play fair!

Remember believe in yourself because I believe in you.

Please continue to visit the site and share your memories with others.

    Keep in touch,
    Coach Janine

    TWISTERS' TOURNAMENT NEWS
Twisters take 2nd place at Lincoln Page Memorial Day tournament.

Thanks to the tireless effort and huge heart of the Massapequa Twisters, the players took home the 2nd place cup in the Gold division. Sure shot striker Autumn tallied five goals, courageous Casey scored two goals and kickin’ Kim tallied two goals. Outstanding defensive play goes to incredible Katie.

The Twisters could not have done it without the dependable defender Elizabeth and her defensive crew of Kelle, Kaitlin, nifty Nicolette, Nicole, Katie and Casey. Tremendous effort by midfielders marvelous Mollie, dynamite Danielle, cool Carly, crossin’ Kaitlin and speedy wheels Kelle causing plenty of opportunity.

Wonderful goal keeping by Mollie, Danielle, Nicolette and golden keeper Nicole! Thank you to Gabby for your support and cheers. Thank you to the Twister parents for your support, cheers and goodies.

Stupendous team work by all Twisters made the weekend successful and fun. You should be proud.

    HIGH FIVES TO ALL!

    Great job Twisters!

    TOURNAMENT NEWS
Twisters opened their season with placing second at East Meadow’s Covanta Tournament August 23rd – August 25th.

    Great job done by all!

Outstanding goal keeping by Nicolette. With her co-goalies Casey, Elizabeth, Gabriella and Autumn, the Twisters only allowed a meager 4 goals against in five games. The least in their division. Great job done by the wall of defense, Casey, Gabriella and Elizabeth with assistance from Autumn, Katie, Kaitlin and Kelle

Leading the Twisters Strikers, Kelle with most goals scored. Kelle, Autumn, Carly and Kaitlin scored a total of nine goals.

Good hustle by our midfielders, including Mollie, Danielle, Katie, Nicole and Nicolette.

    GIRL POWER!

    GO TWISTERS!

    Slow start
Twisters fall again. With Hurricane Ike hitting Texas, the Twisters are winded. They fall again to the Chickadees in another 4 - 1 loss. While there was good passing and effort made by the team, the Twisters gave up two quick goals in the first five minutes and had trouble recovering. The team shows signs of greatness in small spirts each game. BELIEVE IN YOURSELVES, because Coach Janine believes in you!!!!

Twisters win first Waldbaum Challenge Game
March 15, 2008 Twisters move to next level with a win against Bethpage Supersonics. It was not an easy win. Twisters gave up the first goal within the first five minutes of the game. But watch out, with out warning they come from behind and score two goals in the second half. Goals by Gabriella and Christina. Goalies Christina and Katie did a great job keeping the team in the game. Teamwork shown by all. Autumn started the play leading to Gabriella's goal. Christina score on a corner kick play from defense. Solid defense by Casey, Michaela, Katie, Gabriella, Elizabeth, Christina. Melissa and Kaitlin penatrate the Bethpage defense at every chance they could get. Best hustle by Brianna. Good team work by Amanda and Kelle. Way to go girls! GO TWISTERS!
