Wednesday, June 12th was an AMAZING night at the McKnight Baseball complex filled with tight Championship & Semi-Final games, complete with exciting comeback victories! Our "Championship Night" featured the title games in the Rookies, Minor National, and Majors divisions, and a fun, fun, fun I-Ball (Kindergarten) Finale!  The D-Ball (1st Grade) division had it's finale on Saturday, June 15th, and the Minor American Championship game took place on Monday, June 17th.

The Rookies started off the evening with the classic Yankees vs. Red Sox rivalry.  Congratulations to the Yankees on their victory:

Not to let the Yankee franchise get a leg up, the Red Sox team took home the title in the Majors Championship over a tough Orioles squad:

Another local favorite team took home the Minor National title, as the Phillies defeated the Dodgers in a close battle:

And in the final Championship game of the season, the Nationals upset the Giants under the lights:

And, in what may be the "swan song" event for many veteran MBL players on both sides, the "Bats" defeated the "Mud Hens" on the "big field" for the 2013 MBL Babe Ruth 14/15 Championship:

Montgomery Baseball League (MBL) is proud to announce Samuel Capolongo as the winner of our 1st ever Montgomery Baseball League College Scholarship program.

This annual program is intended to provide a one-year scholarship to assist qualified and deserving baseball player applicants attend institutions of higher learning. The scholarship was initiated this year in celebration of MBL’s 40th year serving the youth of the Montgomery and Rocky Hill communities.

Following a thorough and rigorous review process by our Screening Committee, Sam was selected for his active involvement with our program over the years and for his outstanding baseball and academic achievements. MBL President, Joe Gerdes, said that Sam "truly represent(s) all of what we envisioned when we commenced this College Scholarship Fund Program at the beginning of 2013."

MBL Scholarship applicants must have participated in the MBL program for a minimum of 3 years, be actively involved in community service and in the high school baseball program, be of outstanding character and integrity, exhibit leadership on their baseball teams as well as in their communities, and have demonstrated strong academic performance. Additionally, applicants were required to submit at least 2 adult references and an original essay of 250-500 words describing what baseball has taught them that will help them be successful in your future endeavors.

In recognition of his achievements, MBL proudly presented Sam with an award in the amount of $1,000.00 at the Montgomery High School Senior Awards Night on June 10th. The Montgomery Baseball League and its Board of Directors would like to extent their warmest congratulations to Sam on this outstanding achievement and wish him continued future success in college and beyond.

Receive professional instruction on throwing, infielding, outfielding, and hitting.
