Maine Coast United Soccer Club
Maine Coast United Soccer Club is a not-for-Profit premier youth soccer organization directed by Dave Halligan. The Club conducts annual tryouts for its premier teams. Once formulated, they train at Portland Sports Center and play indoors in Portland and Gorham. During the spring, outdoor teams compete in the Region 1 Northeast Regional League, NESL League and Pine Tree League. MCU was created to provide an advanced program of coaching and competition for Maine's premier soccer players. Unlike other "premier programs," all of Maine Coast United's Premier fees are directly invested in the program. There are no "administration fees" or other profit motivated expenses. Our tuition is based upon the anticipated cost of the program - not a dime more. Once coaches' salaries and other expenses are calculated into the equation, our price is determined . Neither the club nor any single individual "benefits" from anything unnecessarily added above and beyond our projected financial needs. Can any other premier program in Maine claim the same? We offer the best coaches, best facilities, and best value for your premier dollar. The types of student athletes accepted into our program are dedicated to strive for the highest level attainable in academia and soccer. Since 1995, MCU has won 37 State Championships and numerous international and out-of-state tournaments. The club has produced 2 college All Americans, 4 All Americans (High School), 11 All New England Players, 9 Regional Pool Players, and 1 National Team Player. MCU currently has/had players at colleges/Pro teams such as, URI, Stonehill Virginia, St. Lawrence, (2), U.V.M., High Point, UNE, UMF, Bates, Colby (2), Qunnipiac(2), Ithacca, Adelphia, Tufts Bowdoin(2), Virgina, Trinity, Sacred Heart, UConn, UNLV St.Michaels, West Virgina, Weselyn, Bates, University of Maine, Wheaton, Yavapai Juco National Champs 2008, The Seattle Sounders (MLS) and Longford Town .(FAI)
