The team banquet will be held Sunday afternoon, November 22nd at 5:00 at the Huron River Hunting Club in Farmington.

Congratulations Marlins on a Great Season !

..... Let's Make 2010 an Even Better Year !

On to Battle Creek !
Your Snarlin' Volleyball Marlins took one more step towards a possible state title by defeating Lapeer East at Fenton High School Tuesday, November 17th.

The Big Fish dropped the Eagles in four games: 25-14, 25-23, 23-25, 25-13 and moved their season record to 48-9-3.

The fun continues for the Marlins now in the State Semifinals Thursday, November 19th at Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek at 5:30 against their arch-rivals, Birmingham Marian.

If Mercy can derail the Marian championship express Thursday, they would advance to the State Championship match against the winner of Thursday's other semifinal matching Portage Central vs. Livonia Churchill.

Let's All Swim with the Big Fish !

The Mercy Volleyball Marlins extended their finest season in recent memory with their first regional championship since 1990 last night, grabbing only the second regional title in school history.

The Big Fish had tamed the Brighton Bulldogs Tuesday, November 10 in a quick sweep 25-13, 25-15, 25-17 in the Class Region 6 semifinal from Dexter High School.

The White Lake Lakeland Eagles proved to be a more worthy foe in the regional final, but also fell on Thursday at Dexter 27-25, 15-25, 25-16, 25-16.

With that Regional championship, the Snarlin' Marlins have improved their season record to 47-9-3.

The Marlins now move on to State Quarterfinal action Tuesday evening, November 17th, at 7:00 at Fenton High School against the Lapeer East Eagles.

If they can win Tuesday, they would then travel to the State Semifinals Thursday night, November 19th, at Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek.

Re-Re-Re-Re-Repeat !
Your Snarlin' Volleyball Marlins continued their outstanding 2009 season (and the formidable Mercy volleyball tradition) with their 6th straight (and 19th in the last 22 years) State District title, with a 3-1 (25-23, 18-25, 25-21, 25-16) win over North Farmington Friday night, November 6th in the Michigan Class A District #25 championship match.

The Marlins blasted the West Bloomfield Lakers in the first round 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-12) Tuesday.  They followed that with another 3-0 sweep on Thursday, this time over the Farmington Hills Harrison Hawks 25-12, 25-9, 25-16.  And your Big Fish then snagged the District title with their 3-1 win over the North Farmington Raiders.

Marlins Continue Early Season Success
The young 2009 Mercy Marlin varsity volleyball team continued to build on their early season successes as they entered Catholic League play over the last two weeks.

After a "reality check" game at #1 in Class A Marian, where the Marlins found they have further improvements to make if they want to play at the top levels in the state, losing to the Mustangs in 4 games, the "Big Fish" then progressed all the way to the semifinals in the September 19th Flushing tournament before losing to eventual champion, and #1 in Class B, North Branch in two games.  The Marlins were 4-1 on the day in Flushing with wins over Pinckney, Ladywood (twice), and Bath.

The Marlins continued their role as Catholic League "road warriors" on Tuesday, September 22nd with their 3rd win in four days over rival Livonia Ladywood (25-20, 25-22, 25-18). With that solid win at Ladywood, the Marlins improved their overall record to 21-4 on the year, 1-1 in the Catholic League as they approach the halfway point in the season.  They are just out of the Class A top ten rankings, receiving honorable mention in the first statewide polls.

The Marlins continue Catholic League play at Warren Regina, Tuesday, September 29th.  Go Marlins !

Snarlin' Marlins Capture Second Tournament Title
The Big Fish won their second tournament in a row Saturday, September 12th at Chippewa Valley High School !

Mercy swept through the tournament without losing a game, defeating Lutheran North, Grosse Pointe North, Birmingham Seaholm (twice), Farmington, and Cadillac on the way to improving their season record to 16-2.

That championship sets up an early season matchup of two of the state's best volleyball teams Thursday night at two-time defending state finalist, arch-rival Marian.

Go Marlins !
