    Baseball Banquet
Our annual Baseball Banquet will be Tuesday night, April 28 at 6:00 at the Magnolia Civic Center. Players and their families are invited - BBQ from Westside will be served. Hope to see everyone there.

    Center Hill Game
Today's game at Center Hill has changed the Varsity game time from 7:00 to 5:00 due to the prediction of rain moving into the area later tonight. A junior varsity game will follow if the weather permits.

    Thank you,
    Coach Fowler

    From Highway 78

Take the Bethel Road/Hackscross Road Exit. Go north toward Goodman Road which is the 2nd traffic light. Take a right onto Goodman Road/Highway 302. Go one block about 1/2 mile and turn left onto Polk Lane. Go 1.5 miles on Polk Lane and turn right onto Kirk Road. Follow Kirk Road for 1 mile to the 4 way stop. You will be in front of the school.

    Share Your Digital Photos
Don't forget to e-mail us your digital photographs of all the action so that we can add it to our Photo Albums section of the website. What a great way to share those exciting moments with everyone.

Thanks to Sam and Stephen for the pictures that were added from Spring Break. You can find those under the 2009 tab and the 2009 Spring Break tab in the Photo Album folder.

    Posters
The posters are available for distribution this weekend (call Frank's cell phone and he can either bring them to you or you can pick them up at his house) and early next week - we will have them available in Oxford at the tournament also. Each player and coach should have received one already, and each $100 sponsor can have 2, each $50 sponsor can have 1, and each paid member of the Booster Club can have 1 to share with family members, etc. Let's get these out as quickly as possible!! The poster does show us playing at Oxford next Saturday which is not correct - that is scheduled as a home game but I misinformed the printer. Thanks for all of your help....

    T-Shirt Order Form
The order form is located under the Handout section of the website for your convenience.

    A Note from Coach Fowler
I want to take this opportunity to say "Thank You" to all our parents and supporters of New Albany High School Baseball. Once again, because of you and our hard working players, the Schedule Card Fundraiser was a huge success. This was our 9th season to do the card sale program through Varsity Gold and for the 9th straight year, we've broken sales records for the Southern Region. Our kids were challenged to sell 700 of the cards and they responded by selling 702. I believe that this sets a tone for the season because the kids learn through the sale that they can pull together, with a common goal, and exceed it through hard work and determination.

I would like to give special praise to our top 3 sellers: Hunter Hardin sold 45 cards, Sawyer Wheatley sold 47, and our big winner, Jud Roberts, sold an amazing 60 cards total.

On Tuesday, we took the kids to Bill Williams Sporting Goods in Tupelo where they were able to spend the money they raised on items that they wanted to purchase for the upcoming season. Every player raised enough money to pay for their cleats. This is very important to me because it takes a huge burden away from our parents who are already facing enough fees and expenses as it is every school year. Thank you for continuing to support this program. It is a blessing to our team every single year.

Also, I would like to say a few things about the kids as we prepare for our season opener this weekend against Baldwyn. We are ready to find out just how prepared we are and just how far we are away from becoming the type of team we've grown to expect at New Albany. We are very young and inexperienced but I believe we will be a fine ballclub that will represent our school and community well. We will have good days and we will have bad days but I look forward to playing the schedule and seeing where it leads.

In closing, I would like to express my sincere thanks for trusting your boys to me and my staff. We don't take your trust lightly. We always make our decisions based on what's best for our kids. Wins and losses are important to us but our real goal is to have a part in turning your boys into men that will benefit our community as a whole in the near future. Nothing gives me greater joy than to have one of my players return 'home' and tell me that New Albany Baseball had a major impact on his life. This is what it's all about when you really think about why we encourage our children to play sports and to be the 'best that they can be' at all endeavors.

I love my team and appreciate your support.

    Coach Fowler
