North Side Falls in Semi-Finals; Takes 3rd Place Overall!!!

The North Side 12U All-Stars season came to an end Sunday morning as they fell to West Linn, Oregon 10-0 in the regional semi-final. The Oregon state champions based out of Portland used solid hitting and pitching to shut down North Side throughout the game. North Side finished 3-2 at the regional tournament and earn 3rd place overall, behind West Lynn and West Lewis County, the Washington state champions. The Jerome based Idaho state champions finished the season at 27-11.
Bats Come Alive as North Side Hammers Sandy 15-2; Earns Spot in Semis!!!

North Side’s offense came alive Saturday night as they beat Sandy, Oregon 15-2 to advance to the semi-finals at the Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament in West Linn, Oregon. North Side pounded out 14 hits in the game including solo home runs by Jacob Lloyd and Ethan Bragg and a three-run shot by Jeff Colvin. Colvin’s home run in the top of the second put the first three runs on the board and North Side cruised from there, scoring 3 in the second, 9 in the third and three more in the fourth. Lloyd, Dom Baker and Nathan Suitter all had multiple hits in the game and every player on the team either reached base or had an RBI. North Side once again had dominant pitching with Lloyd and Baker combining to allow only three hits over the run-limit shortened four inning game. North Side now takes on host West Lynn, the Oregon state champions, at 10AM PDT Sunday in the semi-finals. If North Side wins, they will play in the championship game at 1:00PM PDT for the right to go to the Cal Ripken World Series in Winchester, Massachusetts.
North Side Drops Game to Washington State Champ; Earns Second Seed!!!!

North Side's 12 game winning streak, dating back to July 10th, came to an end in Portland on Friday night as the boys dropped an 11-0 decision to West Lewis County, Washington. Ethan Bragg took the mound for North Side and, for the third game in a row, steady pitching kept North Side in contention with West Lewis only leading 4-0 going to the bottom of the fifth. West Lewis took the lead on a combination of some solid hitting and shaky North Side defense. But North Side could only muster 3 base runners the entire game as once again their bats fell silent. North Side finished pool play with a record of 2-1 and earned the second seed in the National Division of the tournament. The boys will battle the third place team from the American Division at 6PM PDT on Saturday to earn a spot in the regional semi-finals on Sunday morning. Go North Side!!!
North Side Beats Montana; Continues to Roll at Regional Tournament!!!!

For the second game in a row North Side used dominant pitching to secure a win at the Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament. This time it was Dom Baker on the mound and, like Jacob Lloyd earlier in the day, Baker threw a complete game for North Side, beating Mission Valley from Montana 8-1. Baker went six innings, giving up one run on only four hits. North Side's offense struggled for most of the game. They were able to push across single runs in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd innings but, at the end of 5, North Side was only ahead 3-1. Things broke open in the top of the sixth with several great bunts and some solid base running allowing North Side to put the game away. North Side wraps up pool play at 6:00PM PDT on Friday as they battle West Lewis County from Washington. Go North Side!!!
North Side Shuts Out West Linn to Open Regional Tournament!!!!

Jacob Lloyd pitched a complete game shutout for the North Side 12U All-Star team on Thursday morning as they opened the Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament with a victory. North Side shut down the West Linn B team (Portland, Oregon) with solid pitching, stellar defense and timely hitting. West Linn threatened in the top of the third when a player on second base tried to score on a single to left field but North Side left fielder Damon Zamora fired a strike to catcher Austin Boborowski who tagged out the West Linn player. North Side then got on the board in the bottom on the third when Ethan Bragg crushed a two-out, 1-2 changeup over the center field fence, scoring Ben Taylor and Austin Bobrowski and giving North Side a 3-0 lead. North Side tagged on two more runs in the bottom of the 5th when Jacob Lloyd lined a shot down the right field line for a triple, scoring Taylor and Trever Ostler. North Side is back in action at 6:00pm PDT tonight when they take on the Mission Valley team from Western Montana.
12U Regionals update #1!!!!

The North Side 12U All-Star team is guaranteed to bring home at least one piece of hardware from the Pacific Northwest Regional Championships. At the opening ceremonies on Wednesday night the team won the baserunning competition with a time of 14.98. Each runner had to start at home plate and round the bases before the next player started. The four North Side players involved were Jacob Lloyd, Austin Bobrowski, Damon Zamora and Ethan Bragg. Nice job boys! North Side will play their first game of the tournament at 9:00AM PDT on Thursday against West Linn (Oregon). We'll post results as soon as possible after the game!

Thanks to everyone for their support of our State Champion 12U Cal Ripken Team. The team heads for West Linn, Oregon on Tuesday morning. Tuesday will be a travel day and Wednesday will feature the opening ceremonies for the tournament. The team will being pool play on Thursday morning when they will meet a West Linn team at 9:00am. North Side will then play Mission Valley (Montana) at 6:00pm. Pool play for North Side will conclude on Friday evening at 6:00pm with a game against West Lewis County (Washington). Elimination games for the tournament being on Saturday. We'll update the website with scores and details from the games so check here to see how we are doing! North Side Majors All-Star Team Wins State Title Game!!!

The North Side 12U All-Star Cal Ripken team survived 106 degree game time temperatures on Saturday and crushed East Boise 16-6 in the Cal Ripken State Championship game. North Side went 7-0 at the state tournament in Boise beating Nampa, Idaho Falls, East Boise, Vallivue and Latah County in pool play before beating Wood River in the semi-finals and East Boise in the championship game. While playing 7 games in three days in triple-digit temperatures, North Side outscored its opponents 64-22. The win earns the team a berth in the Pacific Northwest Regional Championship tournament against state champions from Oregon, Washington, Montana and the province champion from British Columbia. The tournament will be held in West Linn, Oregon July 29-August 2. The winner of the regional tournament advances to Winchester, Massachusetts in August for the Cal Ripken World Series. Cougars Win 10U Softball League Tournament!!!

The Cougars knocked off the Tigers tonight in the championship game of the 10U softball league tournament. It was a close game all the way with the Cougars pulling out the 18-17 win in the final inning of the game. Congratulations to both team on a great season and congratulations to the Cougars for winning the championship!
Wildcats Win 12U Softball League Tournament!!!

The Wildcats edged the Cowboys 21-20 tonight in the championship game of the 12U Softball League Tournament. It was a back-and-forth game all night and was the second night in a row that the teams battled to a 1-run final score. Congratulations to both teams for a great season and congratulations to the Wildcats for winning the championship!
Millenkamp Cattle wins Babe Ruth League Tournament!!!

It took nine innings and more than 3 hours but Millenkamp Cattle topped Arlo Lott Trucking 6-5 to win the Babe Ruth League Tournament on Saturday. Much of the game was played in the rain and there was an almost :40 minute rain delay in the fourth inning but both teams endured and battled to a great finish. Congratulations boys and congratulations to Millenkamp Cattle for the victory!
Royals Win Majors Tournament!!!

The Giants put up a great fight on Wednesday night but in the end the Royals were able to hang on and earn the title of 2009 Cal Ripken Major League Tournament Champions. The Giants came to play in game one and jumped all over the Royals. When the dust settled the Giants had a 21-6 victory in hand which forced a second and deciding game for the championship. The Royals recovered in game two and were able to hold off the Giants and earn the victory 8-5. Congratulations to both teams on a great season and on a great final night of baseball. And congratulations to the Royals for winning the championship!
Muckdogs Win Minors Tournament!!!

The Muckdogs did it the hard way but after winning back to back elimination games on Wednesday night over the IronBirds they were crowned the 2009 Cal Ripken Minor League Tournament Champions. Game one saw a number of lead changes and before the Muckdogs were able to pull out the 13-9 victory. Game two was also a spirited battle with the Muckdogs finishing on top 15-11. Congratulations to both teams for a great season and a great tournament finale and congratulations to the Muckdogs on the big wins!
