Old Bridge Lightning Goes to NY and Takes Down Title
In the Old Bridge Lightning's first trip to New York (Staten Island, NY), they used superb pitching and timely hitting (and of course great defense) to win the 1st Annual Hustle Beats Talent Tournament.

In the title game, a 4-3 victory, Old Bridge beat the hosting team, the Richmond County Bombers. Winning Pitcher Jimmy F. also drove in the game winning run with a perfectly executed bunt to turn a 3-3 tie, into a 4-3 lead in the top of the 5th inning. The go ahead run was scored by Nick K. who led off the 5th with a BOOMING triple over the right fielders head.

Jimmy allowed two runs (one earned) over the final three innings to earn the victory.

The starter in the game, Evan G. set the Lightning boys up with 3 great innings of his own, Only allowing one run and getting out of a bases loaded, no out situation in the 2nd and only allowing that one run to score, a HUGE 6-3 DP got the first two outs and the final out being made on a pickoff play from home to 3rd when the RC runner strayed too far off the 3rd base bag.

The story of the weekend again, was pitching and defense, only allowing a total of 8 runs over the four game stretch. The OB Lightning won their games by the scores of 6-1 (over the Bridgewater Rays), 10-1 (over the Staten Island Panthers), Semi-final game was a 9-3 win (over the Staten Island Panthers) and then the 4-3 Title game victory.

CONGRATS BOYS........TOTAL TEAM EFFORT...EVERYONE DID THEIR PART...WAY TO GO..
