The Pape Men’s Winter Basketball League has been in existence for more than 38 years and is one of the finest leagues in the city of Toronto.
Six league teams are organized based on a draft system. The draft is held one week before league play begins. Potential players are compiled in a draft list. Six captains are selected, who draft players from this list in sequential order for a total of ten rounds. Final league consists of 66 players. Individuals not drafted will remain on a supplementary list.
The cost to participate is $200 per player, which includes 15 games plus playoffs and a Pape game shirt. League and individual statistics are kept with championship and individual awards presented.
The League will begin play Saturday, November 13, 2010 and will end with the championship game Saturday, April 2, 2011.
Schedule games are held at St. Patrick Catholic High School located at 49 Felstead Avenue between Danforth & Greenwood. Games are stop-time 20 minute halves with certified board officials.
Games are scheduled at 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays and league schedule will be made available.
