ABOUT THE PENNSBURY HIGH SCHOOL FIELD HOCKEY TEAM:
 

--We are in the Suburban One League, which plays area schools such as Council Rock North and South, Neshaminy,

and Abington.

--There are 3 teams: Varsity is made up of 17-20 players, Junior Varisty 17-20 players,

and Freshman which typically is 11-17 players.

--Tryouts for Varsity and JV are held over a 3-day period in August; teams are named after tryouts on the third day. 

--The Freshman team holds tryouts in the beginning of school over 2 days. Its season lasts about 4-5 weeks.

--One head coach and two assistant coaches oversee the two teams.

--About 18 games are held thoughout the season; on game day the Varsity team plays first, then the JV team.

Practices are held every day from tryouts through the end of the season.

--The Freshman team has a separate game and practice schedule.

--Pasta parties are held thoughout the season and a banquet is held at the end of the season for all players and their families.

--The seniors are recognized on a special game day with a player dinner following both games.
