SAVAGE, PUENTES DECIDE ON LYNCHBURG
PVI Seniors Dan Savage (INF) and Justin Puentes (C/P/UTL) have committed to play baseball at NCAA Division III Lynchburg College next year. The Lynchburg Hornets play in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and boast seven ODAC titles in their storied history. Dan and Justin have become the 34th & 35th Panthers to move on to a college baseball since 2003.

MORGAN SELECTED FOR "ALL-NATIONAL TEAM"
PVI Senior C/UTL Chad Morgan was recently honored as one of the top senior players in the country with his selection to the BaseballClearing House.net "All-National Team". Players were selected from a pool of over 100,000 high school players nationwide.  The All-National Team is made up of only 2009 high school players from around the nation. The list represents the highest quality level players from every state.

2009 SCHEDULE RELEASED!

PVI Baseball's 2009 Varsity and JV schedules have been finalized and are now in the Headlines Section (upper right) in PDF format. The defending State Champion Varsity Panthers face another challenging schedule in 2009, playing 25 regular season games in just over 7 weeks. The Panthers will open the season at home on Saturday March 14th vs. Hearts.  PVI plays at home again against Fredericksburg Christian on St. Patrick's Day at 6:00pm, followed by playing host to the defending WCAC Tournament Champion Dematha Stags on Friday March 20th at 7:00pm. The tilt with Dematha leads in to a nine-game stretch of intense WCAC contests complimented by a matchup with national powerhouse Calvert Hall in Baltimore on Saturday April 4th. For spring break, the Panthers will visit Charlottesville to play a double-header with perennial VA State power St. Anne's Belfield and then head further south to defend their '08 title at the Southeastern Baseball Classic in Hartsville, SC. The Varsity team will close the season with seven more tough WCAC opponents, before prepping for the WCAC Tournament and hopefully accepting another bid to the VISAA State Championship Tournament.
Click "TRADITION of EXCELLENCE" in the Headlines Section to see how the Panthers have fared vs. many of their 2009 opponents in years past.

PVI Senior OF Cody Reeves has signed a scholarship offer from Towson University. The Towson Tigers play in the CAA (Colonial Athletic Association). Towson has twice reached the NCAA Tournament, and was the CAA runner-up in 2005. Paul VI Voted Best High School in Fairfax County
Paul VI Catholic High School was voted as the best overall high school in Fairfax County in the Times Community Newspapers "Best of Fairfax" readers’ poll. The poll indicated readers’ choices for the best elementary school, middle school, high school and college in which PVI was the only private institution selected. "As one of the only high schools in the area sending nearly 100% of its graduates to college, PVI also boasts strong extracurricular and sports programs". The publication also noted that in less than 25 years Paul VI has tripled its enrollment and that the combination of intellectual, social and spiritual growth helped rank PVI as the best local high school. Considering the reputations and streghths of all the schools in Fairfax County (both public and private), this is quite an accomplishment. Find out more about our school at www.paulvi.net.
