6. International Desperados Tournament

Das slowpitch-Turnier beginnt am Samstag ab 9.00 Uhr. Am Sonntag geht es um die Platzierungen. Turnierende ist gegen 16.30 Uhr. Die Spiele dauern ca. 50 Minuten, ausser dem Endpiel am Sonntag. Dieses wird mit 7 innings gespielt. Selbstverständlich werden wir mit Essen vom Grill, Kaffee u. Kuchen versorgt. Unsere „Player’s Party“ am Samstag verspricht gute Unterhaltung . Also unbedingt einplanen.

Die TSV Michelbach Desperados bringen ein gutes 2.Platz zurück!
Und auch LSG geschlagen!
Eine tolle Leistung.
Alle Spielern waren Offensiv und Defensiv gut beteiligt.
Nächstes Turnier in Ladenburg - "Let's go!"
For our International friends: the TSV Michelbach Desperados were able to place 2nd in the 2006 Woodpeckers Spring Tournament. It was a great team effort, everybody played solid defense as we also scored plenty of runs. Now its off to Ladenburg where the Desperados are looking to better their 2nd Place performance from last year.

The TSV Desperados welcome all our softball friends to our 4th International Desperados Tournament. Like always, we expect all our old friends and hopefully some new ones to enjoy the beginning of the Slow Pitch Softball Season. We do it with a BAT ! ! !

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TEAM FROM PRAG
CIT PRAHA "2005" CHAMPIONS 2nd INTERNATIONAL DESPERADOS SLOWPITCH SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT.
ANOTHER GREAT WEEKEND!!! FOR THE MICHELBACH DESPERADOS.
After a slow start, getting rid of all the cobwebs and some fine tuning. This years 1st game on field one CIT Prag vs Woodpeckers, after a slow start CIT Prag broke out with first blood and scored 7 runs in the first inning, after the change the Woodpeckers tried to come back with 2 runs, but could do nothing againts the strong defense of the Prag team. 3 More runs for Prag in the 2nd inning opened up the lead to 10-03. After one more run in the 3rd by the Woodpeckers, Cit nailed the casket shut in the 4th and scored 4 more runs, ending the game with 16-03 for CIT PRAG. GAME ONE
GAME TWO
Last years runner up Lufthansa LSG, had no problem with there first game as they played our guest out of Switzerland beating them 24-0 in a quick game without using there strong guns. LSG not waking up until the 3rd scored 8 run, 1 in the 4th, and 15 in the 5th to cruise to there 1st win for the day. Everything the Frogs did to stop the damage did not work but i must say, I must tip my hat to them they held LSG scoreless until the 3rd which is pretty hard to do considering that LSG plays Slow/Fastpitch in the same year and are very capable of crushing anyone who steps up the tempo. Final score 24-0
Game Three
Two new teams with there first appearance in Schwaebisch hall, the Brew Crew and the Southside Sluggers.
After opening with 4 runs the Sluggers were on top, after the switch, Brew Crew ran 3 in. Next inning went to the Brew Crew with three more runs. Alot of errors on part of the Sluggers contributed to 3 runs in the 2nd and 3 in the 3rd inning opening the lead to 8-4. Another two runs for the Sluggers did not help as time expired end the match 6-8 for the BREW CREW.
Game Four
A real close game with the Chilliys and CIT. DEFENSE GAME
3-3 in the first, 2-1 in the second 1-1 in the 3rd, ending the game as time expires 6-5 for the Guest from PRAG.
Game Five
Woodpeckers vs Chilliys, Chilliys opening with 1 run,Woopeckers with 4. Another 1 from the Chilliys in the 2nd and third. It looked like the Woodpeckers met there match, but with a rally in the last inning they scored 4 more runs to end the game with 3-9
Game Five
Black Frogs vs Brew Crew. 0-0 in the 1st,1-6 in the second 7 more in the 3rd for the Brew Crew,before ending the game the Frogs came back with 5 more runs, ending the game 7-13 for the Brew Crew.
Day one ends with a Home Run Contest, Julian Roberts wins with a shot of 93 meters over three hundred feet. Hats off.
Sunday day two, the favorites from the other bracket The Desperados winning all three games and the only team to beat the Winners of the Tournament, in a wild game on field two to open up the gap with five doubles to score 9 runs before the 3rd out fell. With this confidence for the next game the the Desperados where sure to slide into the finals without a big problem from the Brew Crew.
After 18 erros from the Desperados they bowed down to the Brew Crew as they advanced to the finals, as the Desperados with there head held
walked off the field, they realized they made to many mistakes to advance. With one game on hand for the Desperados against LSG. Which also lost there game against Prag and taking every chance to slide into the finals vanished as favorites. After a back and fourth battle between the two teams a final score of 15-9 and LSG walked of the field with third place to. Desperados gave them a real good game and the better team won. No runs in the opening inning for the Brew Crew, 3 for Prag, one in the 2nd for the Crew and then the guests from Prag opened up a can of whip ass, to crush them to the ground (Skull Dragged). Ending the game 1-30 for Prag.
All respect for the Crew they won key games to get them into the finals. Hats off. See ya next year. Dognuts reporting
The Desperados take their first Softball Tournament!!!
First victory was against the Black Frogs from Switzerland 14-5.
Second game against the Brewers from Ludwigsburg and they gave us a good game, at the end they had the upper hand!!! 9-11 we lost!!! Can´t win em all!!!
Third game against the Woodpeckers, this win was needed to get into the finals!!! This we mastered!!!
Fourth game against the Brewers again!!! The first part of the game was really close!!! Then we started pulling away, they came back one more time. With good hitting from the bench we finally closed the door as the brewers could not maintain their composure!!! 16-9 the DESPERADOS win!!! Dognuts reporting

First Game of the Day!!!
The opening pitch determined the rest of the game. After breaking open the game with a three run lead, we thought this would be something to talk about!!! Another three and another three, until we opened up a can of whip ass on the Adlers from Kornwestheim. The new arrived sponsored bats from Louisville proved to be just what the Desperados were looking for to open up this can, and at the same time closed the door on the unknown opponents. Run after run after run,that´s what happened!!! With no trouble,the Desperados just swept the German Eagles off the field!!! Did we break a sweat??? You will never know!!! 26-0 final score.
After sweeping the Adlers from Kornwestheim, the Desperados thought this would be a walk in the park!!! beating them everytime we met them on the field. After a 6 run lead from the peckers in the 1st the Desperados were surprised!!! Returning with 5 right back this was to be a game. With good infield and out field from the Woodpeckers, they stopped everything we had to offer!!! Williams on the mound, we shut them down with two strike outs, and one on base to close the inning quick. Another run by Kornwestheim made it 7-5!!!
With another response from the Desperados to make it 7-7 the game was tied. At the end the better team that day was Kornwestheim and won 8-7 to advance to the next round as bracket 1st leaving the Desperados scratching there heads!!! Hats off to the Woodpeckers!!! Good job.
Leaving the Desperados for a tough game in the morning with the 1st place team in group 1, the BrewCrew from Augsburg.
The BrewCrew advanced through the first round not losing a game and beating the weakened 5 man LSG team from Frankfurt using other players to come in second. This will be the 2nd time the BrewCrew will meet up with the Desperados to determine who will be the first team in the finals!!! The 1st time the Desperados were beat 12-9 as the BrewCrew advanced to the finals and played the Czech team that were only beaten by the Desperados the whole weekend, The Czech team SKULL dragged the BrewCrew 30-01. Let´s see what happens this time.
The LSG team will be playing the Woodpeckers in the other game to determine the which team advances to the finals!!!

The Desperados arrived and were ready to face the BrewCrew again, but this time the pages would be turned. After starting the game the BrewCrew opened with 5 to start off the inning, after 3 outs the Desperados were up. With a strong line up and no players injured, we opened the can!!! You ask what can??? The can of whip ass!!! the first 5 runs came in and before three outs came up the Desperados had 15 runs together,after a Home run from Julian Roberts over Right Center Field, and then another monster 2 run Homer from Charles Williams in left field. But what broke the BrewCrews back was the 4-6-3 perfect double play put together by Mike Lusk, Charles Williams and James Scantling. Then in was just great defense from the intire team that closed the door on the BrewCrew. Final score 05-16 Desperados advance to the finals playing the LSG from Frankfurt.
After the first pitch, the Team from LSG went up 6 runs leaving the Desperados to play catch up again. The runs came back and the tie was on, after 3 errors from the shortstop Williams the gap became bigger and bigger, without great infield playing from Julian Roberts the laed would have been more, the Desperados just could not find the back to the batting strength they had in the previous game, coming back with 5 more runs before the game ended, LSG scored 10 more, ending the game 16-10 for LSG. Hats off to LSG even with a weakened team they still pulled it off to beat the Desperados again in a final game.
We want to thank the Woodpeckers for inviting all the teams that are playing in this years tournament!!! Sorry about the rain!!! But you have done a great job!!! Thanks the Desperados Softball Club.
