Welcome to the New Home of Southern Dutchess Football and Cheer.
The Southern Dutchess Packers tackle football and cheer teams are in the process of changing our name to The Southern Dutchess Patriots.
This is being done in order to unify our youth football and cheer programs with John Jay (Patriots) High School . Over the past few years we have been working with the coaching staff at John Jay High School to help our coaches at the youth level so that we can provide your children with the proper techniques and safest training methods used today. Free coaching clinics are offered to all of our head coaches and assistants. In addition, the John Jay Patriots offer their help to the players through summer camps and training clinics. This step in unifying our programs will create a positive atmosphere for our community’s children to learn from Kindergarten all the way up to 12th Grade.
The Southern Dutchess Patriots will be hosting several fundraising events to help cover the costs involved in changing our uniforms for all the teams in Football and Cheer. We will need your help. (Please see the message below about our up-coming Tour of Italy – Pasta Night. A better deal cannot be found in the finest restaurants in Dutchess County. Please join us or offer your help.)
Southern Dutchess Football and Cheer will continue to offer children from ages 5-7 our introductory in-house fun Flag Football and Cheer League.
We also will remain part of the best youth football and cheer program in the country – American Youth Football and Cheer – who offers our players the exciting opportunity to compete on a National Level with players from around the country.
Teams are divided by grade level. We have teams at the following levels: 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th.
This program allows kids of all sizes to share the experience of football with players from their own mental maturity level.
We are open to all public, parochial, private and home schooled children who reside in the Wappinger Central School district area. (Those living outside the Town of East Fishkill are accessed an additional $25 registration fee by the Town of East Fishkill.)
