End of the Year Party/All-Star Game
July 18th will be our end of the year activities.
All-Star Game:
July 18th 11AM at Swarthmore College.

players who are playing in the game please be there by 10AM.
Players who are not playing you are more than invited to come to the game and root on your teammates.
End of the year party:
The Gallos have been very nice to offer their house for the end of the year party. Players and parents are all welcome to come. The party will be at 3pm on Saturday July 18th. The address is 463 Maddock Road. Their home phone number is:610-328-5057. Please bring your uniforms (jersey, pants and belts) to the party. Hope to see you all Saturday!!!
Game Friday night at Wayne
Friday night we will be playing Wayne at Creek Field, you will park in the same parking lot as Wayne's varsity field, the field is directly next to the parking lot. The game will start at 5:45PM we will meet there at 5PM.
Game at Nether on Thursday Night
Tonight we will be playing at Nether Providence at 5:45 at Strath Haven Middle School. It is where we played them last time. Please get there at 5pm.
Game at Aston on Wednesday
Take the Bypass past the Granite Run Mall. Continue south on Rte 1 past Rte 452 until you reach Stony Bank Rd ( Wawa and Concord Plaza). Make a right turn and go about 3 miles to T intersection (Glen Mills Rd). Make left and field is 2 blocks down on the left.

Location Change for game at noon

The location of the game has changed for today's game. It will now be behind Sun Valley's high school. It is not the Varsity field but the JV field behind it. Directions are under the directions link.
To get there you may also take the Media By-Pass to 452 and make a left. Go to Concord Road (5 point intersection) and then make a left. Make a right on Pancoast the School is on your left park behind it.

The game has been cancelled tonight due to field conditions.
We will play Saturday at Aston the game is at 12 we will meet there at 1115AM.
Sunday the game has been moved up to 3:30 at Narberth. We will meet at the field Sunday at 245PM.

Tonight's game is at Springfield High School. I previously made a typo and listed Crowell as our field. Please make sure you get to Springfield High School at 4:45pm.

There will be no game tonight due to field conditions at Crowell Park. Tomorrow we will play Roxborough at Roxborough. We will meet there at 5:15 directions are on the site. Also, I will not be there as I have a school function. If you have any questions or are running late please call Dave at 610-506-4662.

Take City Line Ave to Lincoln Dr
Take Lincoln Dr. to Gypsy Lane and turn right (Gypsy lane comes up on you very fast, it is right around a bend and is the first street you can make a right on)
Take Gypsy Lane until dead end which is School House and turn left
Take School House Lane to Henry Ave,and turn left
Take Henry Ave. to next light and turn right the field is behind the school.

We will practice Saturday at Crowell Park at 9am. We will work on our defense and pitching, if the infield is flooded we will walk to Netherwood behind Slacks and take BP in the cages.

Roxborough game rescheduled.
The Roxborough game has been rescheduled from May 19 to June 10th at 6pm. This change is now in the schedule on the website please update your schedule.

Saturday's game is at Hillcrest Field, directions can be found under the directions link. We will meet at the field promptly at 10:15AM.
First Game Saturday
We have our first two games coming up, then we have a little break til our third game.
Our first game is Saturday morning at 9am at North Ave. We will meet there at 8am, I know that is early but please be there by or before 8am.
Also, if you have not done so already I would like you to text me or e-mail me to let me know if you will be at the game.
Our Monday game is at Roxborough it is a long drive so we will have to plan to leave early.
Please check the schedule and notify me NOW if you have any conflicts with any of the games.

Practice Wednesday
We will have practice Wednesday night at 6pm on the JV field at SHS. This will be our last practice before our first game Saturday so it is very important that you be there.

Practice Saturday, paperwork and birth certificate
We will have practice on Saturday 9am at North Ave rain or shine. If it is raining we have some paperwork and things to give out. Hopefully the rain holds off and we have a good practice.
Please make sure that you have your ORIGINAL birth certificate. I need to bring them to a meeting on May 14th. On Monday night May 4th I will drive to each of your houses to give you the paper work you need to fill out. On Saturday I need you to bring your paperwork and your birth certificate in a plastic baggie.
Again please make sure you have your Birth Certificate.
If you do not you have your original and need to order a new original here is the information you need for those of you born in PA.
You may call the Division of Vital Records at 724-656-3100.
Cancelled Scrimmage
DEL Val has called and cancelled the scrimmage due to lack of players. We will be practicing Sunday however. The practice will be later in the day so that you Cooperstown visitiors can rest up. Please check the website Friday morning before school for a time.

2009 Jr. Legion Tryouts

Tryouts for the Jr. Legion Team will be held on the following dates:
March 21st 9am
March 22nd 6pm
March 28th 9am
March 29th 6pm
April 4th 9am
April 5th 6pm if needed
You MUST attend 3 tryouts to be considered for the team.
American Legion is highly competitive baseball consisting of top teams from around Philadelphia and Delaware county. You must not turn 16 before 5/1.

Final Season stats
I know many players have been looking forward to seeing the final season stats, especially one player we will call him BB. So I will put up all the final stats once all uniforms are returned. Remember I need jerseys pants and belts. So if you want to see your final stats get on your teammates and make sure they get their uniforms to me.

All-Star Game recap
First off congrats to the parents who were the winners of the kid/parents softball game 11-10 in 9 innings. The winning team was made up of Mr. Megaro, Mr. Canova, Mr. Duve, Mr. Storz, Mr. Kelley, Mr. Horan, Jack Horan, Jim Boyle and the player with the game winning hit Mr. Pappa.
At the league all-star game all of our players played very well with Bob Boyle winning the MVP of the game. Tom Mcfeeley also made the play of the game with his diving head first catch that not only wowed the crowd but also almost gave his mother a heart attack.

Uniform Return
Please return Uniform, pants, and belts to my house 114 Harned Drive as soon as possible. If I am not home and you dont give the uniform to someone in my house directly after you drop it off just call my cell or e-mail me so I know to look for it.

All Star Game Directions
Take the Blue Route to McDade Blvd Exit. Make a right off the exit going West.
The first road after the small bridge over Ridley creek is Melrose Ave make a left.
Follow til 17th Street Make a left.
Take 17th street til it ends at the old baseball field there will be cars parked on the old baseball field. The field we will be using will be behind the blue monster.
Field and Directions for Wed nights game
The field we will be playing at is Senior Field on Hagy Mills Road.
Here are the directions they are different then we have done before if you have any questions please call me.
Take Route 476 North.
Exit at Exit 18A.
This will place you on Ridge Ave toward Philadelphia you will be going right off of the exit.
Take Ridge Ave for about 3 miles. Ridge Ave will split into two roads. Henry Ave and Ridge Ave. Stay right on Ridge Ave. The next road after the split is Port Royal Road. Make a right onto Port Royal Road.
Once on Port Royal Road you will travel PASS baseball fields on your right (THESE ARE NOT THE FIELD WE ARE PLAYING ON) the second road on your right is Hagy Mills Road make a right.
The field's entrance is about 200 yards on your right side!
This ride will most likely take around 40 minutes so prepare for that.

Wednesday's Playoff Game
Our game Wednesday will be at Roxborough. We will meet at 5pm. Roxborough is working on getting a field so the field will be TBA.
Hats
Some parents were asking about getting the team hats. I have talked to the head off the baseball part of the SAA and he said that he has bigger sizes of the hats and can be gotten right away but the smaller sizes he would need to order and they would take a couple weeks to get in. If you would like a hat let me know your hat size, the hats are fitted. The cost of the hats are $11 and this is just out there again because some parents asked who were interested.
Tournament Review
May 25, 2008
We had a beautiful weekend for some baseball. Everyone contributed and I think we all had some fun. Players remember what we talked about as coaches this weekend and be ready to apply these things in games.
A BIG THANKS to all the parents who drove, watched and supported not only their own children but the team. We have a great group of kids and that is thanks in big part to the parents.
For Tuesday we are meeting at North Ave for 4:15PM to get a little BP in please check the website throughout the day if it does start to rain throughout the day.
