    League/Season Update
Round one of league play will continue until Nov 29th for outdoor play. It is the intent of the Upper Island with the support of clubs to then schedule Futsal tournaments or playdays in December prior to the holidays and for the month of January. Clubs please contact Cheri Tilley to make arrangements for these events:ui-soccer-sched@shaw.ca

As previously announced there will be a handful of games scheduled for Sunday Dec 6th that are required in order to complete a balanced round of play amongst teams of the same age group. There are more games meeting these criteria that will be schedule once league play resumes Jan 24th, 2010.

Please see the list below broken down into age groups showing what games are required. The Dec 6th games have been posted and now await information from club schedulers to finalize fields and times. Due to weather there may be additional games from this past weekend as well as Nov 29th games that may need to be factored into rescheduling come Jan.

    League Break Dec 13th – Jan 24th

During the league break there have been two Futsal tournaments organized the Snowball Dec 13th in Cumberland and the Fireball Jan 10th in Nanaimo. Please see the UI website for complete details and registration. This leaves one available weekend for play, when teams are encouraged to arrange other futsal activity or exhibition games. Futsal is encouraged due to the weather and the unlikelihood of getting an outside game played.

Round Two of league play will resume Jan 24th and continue thru until the completion of the season. Date to be determined based upon Coastal Cup and Island Cup dates which are as of yet TBD.

New this season will be the continuation of league play once teams are eliminated from Cup games. Games will continue right up until the UI Island Cup Tournament.

The Upper Island season will once again finish with a round robin tournament to determine the Upper Island representative to the Island Cup final.
