Welcome to The Greater Vienna Babe Ruth Home Page. This year we are proud to have the 2009 16-18 year old Virginia State Champions! Vienna Babe Ruth is the organization for youth baseball in Vienna from 13 years to 19 years of age. We have programs in the Fall and Spring, as well as a Town Tourney, competition in 6 different All Star divisions, and a Sunday Select league. Vienna Babe Ruth Garners Two Awards To Be Given At The Annual Home Plate Club Banquet
Vienna Babe Ruth is proud to announce we will have 2 award winners at the annual Home Plate Club Banquet at the Westwood Country Club Sunday January 31 2010. The Virginia State Champs 16-18 year olds were awarded the Team of the Year 13 and older, and Glen Cordell, our long time coach, manager, and quartermaster has been given a 2009 outstanding achievement award for his many contributions over the years to community baseball. The Home Plate Club has been in existence for over 50 years, and has included many distinguished baseball people over the years (George Will, Clark Griffith, Joe Cronin, Tim Kurkjian, Syd Thrift...). The HPC Banquet honors local baseball players, coaches, teams, volunteers and board members in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
