Players and Parents, please review. NEVER Duck when going into the boards after being hit from behind, Keep your head up - the natural curve of the spine will lessen the impact. Head down stacks the vertebrae and could cause serious injury.
Players, if you see a players number on his back, you DO NOT and CAN NOT check him.
Two players this past weekend, one in a JV game & one in House, were checked from behind and walked away from the rink with torticollis(acute neck strain) because they both had been taught HEADS UP HOCKEY.
