The York County Junior Girls Softball League 2009 Aletha Groff Merit Award is awarded to Kearston Heilman by League President, Dave Eckman. "Kearston has had significant challenges in her life and has met them with qualities that make her a well deserved recipient of this award" said Eckman. Heilman was nominated by her Coach and the John Myers League Representative from West Manchester Township.

Coach Dave Dziwis receives the York County Junior Girls Softball League Dave Trump Merit Award from League President Dave Eckman. "Coach Dziwis has really advanced the Manchester Township Softball Program through his involvement with the MTAA Orange Crush Teams" said Eckman. The Crush won the YCJGSL Championship in the 12 U Major Bracket by going undefeated in the 2009 season. They also played in several tournaments in the area. Dziwis was nominated by MTAA League Representative Shane Walker.

Thank you to all of our league's players, coaches, and parents who attended our third annual "YCJGSL Night at the Revs" on Thursday, August 6, 2009.  It was a fun evening and the weather was great! Also, many thanks to Michelle Gemmill and the entire York Revolution Group Events Staff, for allowing our league to participate in a "Night at the Revs" event. The hospitality extended to us by the entire Revs staff was once again outstanding.

We hope to schedule our 4th annual "YCJGSL Night at the Revs" end of season party in August,  2010. Please contact the York Revolutions ticket sales office to order your tickets to this league event. Discounts are available to groups ordering more than 25 tickets.

Game schedules for the 2009 fall ball season will be posted on the league web site next week.  Coaches are reminded to please check the dates, times, and fields for your games to make sure everything is accurate and correct so that teams and umpires are not sent to the wrong field or to a field on the wrong date or at the wrong time. One or two certified umpires will be assigned to every Major and Minor Division game in 2009.  The league is not responsible for scheduling errors that are not brought to the league's Commissioners attention. Coaches are also responsible for reporting rescheduled game information to the league's Commissioners by using the form for your age group and division found on the "Online Game Reports" page under the Main Menu of this web site or send email to your league Commissioner so that we can keep all of the scheduled game information up to date.
