Bedford Days Tournament 2024

Bedford Minor Baseball / Tri - County Rangers will be holding the Annual Bedford Days Tournament June 28 to June 30 at Joan and Robert Lenihan Field.  Teams in the 13U AAA and 15U AAA divisions can contact / register for the tournament by email at bedfordminorbaseball@hotmail.com, Cost of the tournament is $375.


Registration for 2024 Now Open

Registration for the 2024 season is now open. You will need to set up a RAMP account first if you are not previously registered through RAMP.  Here is the link and you can start registration today:
 
 
Also, if you are interested in coaching either as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach you will also need to register.  There is no fee to do this but you do need to register.  There is an option for you to also choose your Criminal Records Check (CRC).  The association will reimburse you for this.  If you have had a Criminal Records Check done for any other reason you can upload it as part of your profile.  For baseball the Criminal Records Checks are required every 3 years..
 
If you are interested in Competitive Tri-County Rangers evaluations you will register for that at the same time.  There is a tryout fee of $75 but it is added to the registration cost automatically.  Tryouts will begin indoors on April 13th and a schedule will be sent close to those dates.

What equipment do I need to play baseball?

All players need to have their own baseball glove, batting helmet, and bat.  Players are encouraged to wear a protective cup (boys) or  jill (girls), pants, and proper footwear (sneakers or plastic cleats). For safety, no shorts or sandals. 


Field Closures

Exceptions: Les Mayo (Payzant's) and Windsor Junction (WJCC) are privately owned and operated.  Please check the condition of these field  on the Sackville Minor Baseball website.

Weir Field is operated by Springfield Lake Recreation. Check the website www.springfieldlakerec.com for conditions at Weir.


Looking for Umpires

If any person 13 years and above wish to become an umpire please contact us at bedfordminorbaseballpresident@gmail.com.   The association will provide you with a full refund of umpire registration costs to any first year umpire once you have completed the necessary training.  A receipt upon completion of the course will be provided.

This is a great way for a young person to make some money during the summer. The payment structure for the various divisions is listed below:

11U House League & Rep - Plate $40; Bases $30  Single Umpire - $55
13U House League & Rep - Plate $40; Bases $30 Single Umpire - $55
15U House League & Rep - Plate $55; Bases - $45 Single Umpire - $75

18U House League & Rep - Plate $65; Bases - $55 Single Umpire - $90

You must attend an umpire clinic in order to work as an umpire. The cost is $70.  For more information:


Volunteers



Volunteers are needed to help in areas such as coaching and executive positions. No sport can be successful without volunteers and Bedford Minor Baseball is no different. We encourage you to sign up on the registration form in the space provided, or contact one of the members of the executive. The association presently is run by a small group of volunteers, who also volunteer with various teams as coaches or managers.

If you are interested in coaching and would like some formal instruction, Bedford Minor Baseball will support you by paying for your start up course, which consists of an on-line course and a four hour technical course.


What do I get for my registration fee?

Players in the 7U - Rally Cap division get a hat and t-shirt to keep, as well as Baseball Canada hats through our Rally Cap Program. 

At the recreational level, players receive a hat to keep. The team uniform, consisting of a jersey and pants, must be returned at the end of the season.

In all age groups, equipment such as baseballs are provided by the Association, along with all umpire and field associated costs. Bedford Minor Baseball also insures all players with Baseball Nova Scotia, at a cost of $30 per participant.
