Our FALL season started October 1 and ended December 8, a total of 69 days.
Minus the
Saturdays, Columbus Day weekend, Thanksgiving weekend, Halloween
and one Tuesday when no games were scheduled, we had 52 days where games
were
scheduled. Of that 52, we had 7 days when we got in a game or two but
never completed a full days schedule. Of the 8 Sundays during the season, we had
only 3 when all games scheduled were played, 4 others that were total rain outs,
and last Sunday when we only completed 3 ½ games of a scheduled 5. Take away
17 other days where rain or wet rink cancelled the entire day/night, it took us only
35 days to play this season!

In the nineteen Fall seasons of LRHL, we never had as many cancellations as this
season. We can control many things, but not Mother Nature. Cancelling games
because of rain is easy. As for cancelling games due to a wet rink, especially after a
beautiful day, it’s clearly to protect our players from serious injury. We try to give
notice ASAP on nights when we have to cancel, but sometimes that determination
is made after some parents have already left for the rink. We apologize certainly for
any inconvenience as we all know our hockey parents have very busy schedules.

The LRHL would like to thank all its skaters, coaches, assistants and line checkers for
another great season. Thanks to our game scorers, referees and moms who worked our
Snack Shack all season long.

No season can be successful without the cooperation
of so many. Finally, and most importantly, thanks to all our hockey moms and dads,

who make the commitment to our League every season, which enables us to produce.
“the best game around” !!!

The Board of the Lynbrook Roller Hockey League wishes everyone a happy and healthy
Holiday season, and looks forward to seeing everyone next Spring, which begins the
20th year of the LRHL….
