Elk Grove Babe Ruth Baseball has moved to a new website at www.eghardball.com to help us better manage the registration process and communications with our coaches, teams and players. Please visit the new website and check it out. There are many new resources for coaches and parents and the website is very mobile friendly. You may register through the website or you can go to one of the following links directly, but either way you will be asked to sign up for a free Sports Engine (SE) account which will make future registrations and new features a breeze!

In the next few months more features will be added to the website specifically for the Spring 2019 season including the teams, rosters, schedules, scores, and standings. Coaches will be able to manage their teams and communications more effectively and use/create simple team websites linked to the main league website.

POSTPONED - Elk Grove Babe Ruth League 3rd Annual Skills Clinic!
Due to a scheduling conflict brought to our attention at the 11th hour, the Jones baseball fields are unavailable to us on Sunday, October 21. The clinic is cancelled for now. Very sorry for the late notice - we only found out Saturday afternoon.
Save the date Sunday October 21, 2018 at Jones Family Park north and south baseball diamonds! Elk Grove Babe Ruth will be holding the 3rd Annual Free Skills Clinic for player ages 9 to 15. Instructors from the league and other local baseball organizations will teach the fundamental skills including hitting, pitching, catching and fielding.
Elk Grove Babe Ruth is proud to offer this clinic within our community. We believe in teaching core life values through the love of the game since 1962!

Bat Rules for 2018
Babe Ruth League, Inc., which is the parent organization for Elk Grove Babe Ruth Baseball, has mandated new bat rules beginning in 2018. All bats for our league must have either 1) a BBCOR .50 stamp or 2) a USA Bat stamp or 3) be a wood bat. All other bats are ineligible for use in the league.
BBCOR is the standard used for high school, and has been in place for several years. All BBCOR bats are called "drop threes" or the weight in ounces being three less than the length in inches. For example, 33 inch, 30 oz.
Drop threes may be too heavy for younger players in our league, so the USA bat standard would be more suitable for those players. You can find those bats in a wide variety of "drops" - -10, -8, -5, etc.
This new standard is effective with the 2018 season and there are no old bats grandfathered in. All bats in our league must be 2 5/8" diameter.
