2022 CYL SIGN UPS (Up-Date)

February 19, 2022 â€“ 03:15 PM

This season we are going to try and have an all junior and senior girls and all junior and senior boys league. We had a lot of request to try to break it from co-ed to see if we get more interest from girls that want to play instead of co-ed. We do understand, some girls preferred playing co-ed. At this time if we separate the girls and boys off from last year teams and they sign back up, we would have 48 girls possible returning and 42 boys possible returning in junior league. In the senior league possible returning players are 26 girls and 52 boys. We ask you to still sign-up if you don't wont to play in an all girls league. If we do not get enough interest in both leagues (junior/semior) , it will go back to co-ed. If it goes to an all girls league and you don't wont to play in it, you can request for a refund (girls only). The last sign-up date is March 26 after that date, if we have any late sign-ups the fee will increase $5.00. Training, Tee Ball, and coach pitch divisions will still be co-ed.

Along with facebook, visit this site for more information coming soon about the youth league this year. We look forward of having you and the family to come out this year and enjoying some good teeball/softball games or just come out and meet with good people or have a good night meal at our award winning concession stand overseen by Kathy and Barry Taylor, and Bridgette Prater along with help from out community volunteer parents.

A Great Season: Thank You All

July 27, 2021

It's been a great season after thirty two nights and one hundred and eighty three games were play at the park it came to the end on awards night of the excitement of another season. I want to thank the people behind the scenes of our youth league program, umpires in charge Phillip Prater, scorekeepers in charge Sheila Scott, concession stand workers in charge Kathy Taylor, our league treasurer and concession stand ordering Bridgette Prater, building and grounds Marlin Scott, our chief cook Barry Taylor and concession main helpers Carolyn Judkins and Christy Arnold with all your dedication and volunteering your time made it a great year and fun to oversee and be part of.

I want to thank the many coaches of the thirty ball teams we had this season (the most we ever had since being here at the park) for volunteering your time. Thanks for your support, energy, effort, and patience with all of our players. It has been a great pleasure watching some of you practice and playing your games. You have been a great group of coaches to teach and play the game.

Thanks to all our sponsors and people for sponsoring a team and purchasing a ball park banner. This support helps us very much in operating our league expenses.

Thanks to the parents, grandparents, families, friends and other fans for your support not only for your child, but for all the players. Thank you coaches again and people that volunteer to work in our concession stand.

Thanks to Emily Scott for our facebook page and the work she did on it and for our 20th year logo.

Most of all I want to shout out a special thanks to all (330) Kids (the most we ever had here at this park) for the excitement, joy and fun you brought us while playing the game that will give us memories down the road they say. I can still hear the laughter and cheers that surrounded the ball park this year.

From the Centertown Recreational Park Board Members thank you again for a great season.

Board Members from left to right: Bridgette Prater, Phillip Prater, Donnie Caldwell, Sheila Scott, Marlin Scott, Barry Taylor                and Kathy Taylor.

To the ones that know me, I would say how many more nights of games to play, so I will tell you now about 222 days ahead we will crank up again.

Thanks to Ozzy Lopez for mowing our grounds this year.

You don't need a ticket to see some of the best softball in the world. you just need to drive one of the players to the game.

To all we hope to see you next season, for the rest of the time, stay safe, wish you well and God Bless You.

Youth League Update

July 28, 2020 â€“ 10:52 PM

We are monitoring the COVID19 Warren County cases and the around the community. The Park Board will meet soon to discuss this and make recommendations concerning the league. We are looking at options of shorting the youth league season up some and try to finish before school starts is one option. We are looking at continuing on playing the schedule as is and end it as is or county, state, or health department tells us otherwise is another option. The park board might discuss other options, but as of right now all games as schedule are still on until otherwise if change.

Updated: August 3, the park board met Friday, July 31 to discuss the season schedule. We will continue on as the schedule is set. We will still monitored the cases around the county and community, and will shut down as needed to, by the State, County, Community, Health Department and/or by the Park Board.

Season Week 1

Highlights:

July 7, 2020 season batted off on two fields, with coach pitch, junior and senior league teams. Field 1: Blankenship Farms defeated the Bandits 12 to 10 in junior league action. Senior league, Majak Screen Printing defeated Dr Pepper 22 to 2 and Prater Realty and Auction defeated Ponytails Truck Repair by the score of 17 to 12. In this game we saw Nathan Lemons of the Ponytails Truck Repair team  become the first player of the season sending a long shot home run over the fence. Nathan is the son of Dale “Ponytail” Lemons who passed away before the season got started and the sponsor of this team and for many years sponsored a youth team here at Centertown. Not only cheering his team on, he always cheered on other players from different teams and always showed great support to the Centertown Recreational Park and Youth League. We will miss you Dale the tall man with the Ponytail not seeing you standing next to the dugout side of the fence, but we do see and feel your support here at the park still today.

Field 2: In Coach Pitch action we had Crisp Springs Market defeating Ben Lomand Connect 32 to 31 in a extra inning game as it came down in the bottom of the six inning with two outs and the winning run on second base and Josee Lopez sending a base hit to the right side of the field to score the winning run. The second game of the night on this field, Quality Mold defeated Anderson Welding 16 to 5.

July 9, 2020 Field 1: In Junior league action we had Fann Farms defeat Tim Rigsby Roofing 11 to 5 and Holder Realty defeat First Bank Tigers 20 to 0. In the Senior league, Security Federal Bank defeated Amy’s Army 20 to 8.

Field 2: Training league teams action, while no score is kept in these games (all teams are winners) we watch a couple of good games with Cherry Springs Nursery playing Action Advertising and then Ben Lomand Connect playing Martin Daniel Farms.

July 10, 2020 Field 1: Junior league, Tim Rigsby Roofing defeated First Bank Tigers 20 to 0. Senior league action we had Security Federal Bank defeat Dr Pepper 20 to 0 and Ponytails Truck Repair getting by Majak Screen Printing 19 to 15.

Field 2: Tee Ball action, Heritage Farms defeated Ben Lomand Connect in a close one by the score 23 to 18 and Perry’s Garage squeezed by First National Bank 16 to 15.

The first week was a good one, we thank all the players and coaches for participating and the parents and fans for your support. Like I say, you don’t need a ticket to see some of the best softball in the world. You just need to drive one of the players to the game.

2020 Season Start Up

July 6, 2020

SEASON START PLAY: Season will start Tuesday, July 7th and the Park Board has come up with some recommendations from the CDC to help reduce the spread of COVID19.

Our intent:

To provide recommendations necessary to assure and protect the health and safety of everyone involved, while also equally maintaining the integrity of playing  the game of tee ball/softball as much as reasonably possible.

“Some families, especially those with members who face an elevated risk of severe illness, may choose not to participate. That is perfectly OK, and everyone needs to respect that decision when a family or a player makes it.”

COVID19- Park Recommendations

-Stay home if you’re sick or do not feel well or have been around others who are sick.

-Leave the park if you are starting to get sick or feeling ill.

-Using social distancing and maintaining at least six feet between individuals in all areas of the park.(unless family household members)

-Covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then throwing the tissue in the trash.

-Avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

-Spectators using the bleachers sitting area; need to be six feet apart (unless family household members).

-Bathrooms; no more than three people at a time should be in there.

-Wash hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol before and after games

-Bring owned player game equipment like gloves, bats. and helmets if possible.

-Avoid physical contact like high-fives, handshakes and hugs.

-Optional; wear personal protective equipment such as face mask, gloves, etc.., highly encouraged.

OTHER PARK RULES

Please abide by all park rules that are posted at the park such as the “Smoking Designated Areas” (including vapor and e-cigarettes).  “No Pets” allowed, No Bicycles, skateboards, roller blades, etc. and others that are posted

In Memory of Dale "Ponytail" Lemons: April 30, 2020

The Centertown Youth League lost a great supporter to our youth league program who passed away. Dale has been involved in our youth league for many years as a team sponsor (Ponytails Truck Repair), coach, parent and most of all a friend to many people here at the park. Every year Dale would tell me he was looking forward to the youth league playing and he was very supported to the league and park, helping out in many ways he could. Our condolences go out to his family and especially to his son Nathan.
