The Heavenly Track Club is a 501(c) 3 non-profit exempt organization.  The Heavenly Track Club was founded in 1996 as a not for profit organization that provides track and field opportunities for youth and young adults.  Exceptional athletic ability is not a prerequisite of membership and there are no tryouts.  Opportunity for competition is provided but the emphasis is on setting personal goals and training/conditioning to attain those goals.

Some of the Heavenly Track Club Track and Field Program’s goals are to encourage and help young people to develop physically, emotionally and socially through their involvement in track and field.  They will improve their physical conditioning as they learn skills related to track and field.  They will build a positive self-image as they recognize their individual achievements.  They will be part of a team that encourages and promotes the development of friendships, support and encouragement of fellow athletes, good sportsmanship and a good time.

Heavenly Track Club is affiliated with the USA Track & Field (USA T&F), the Amateur Athletics Union (AAU), and the Texas Amateur Athletics Federation (TAAF).

The Mission of Heavenly Track Club Track and Field Program is the promotion of personal excellence in its members through motivation, education, hard work and discipline both on the track, the field and in the classroom.

The Heavenly Track Club Track and Field Program are committed to Building Champions through local, state, and national recognition and athletic excellence of our athlete’s team and program.  We provide our athletes with the fortitude for them to be Champions in their sport and life.  The integrity of our program is rooted in the tradition and spirit of Heavenly Track Club to bring honor and distinction to our local community, our local cities, our state, and our nation.

The Heavenly Track Club Track and Field Program strive to produce strong motivated individuals with a powerful drive to succeed in a competitive environment.  We believe that the lessons learned through training and competition build strong positive self-esteem and assists in developing a foundation to build a better society of adults.

The Heavenly Track Club Track and Field Program competes at all levels of competition from Local, District, Association, Area/ Regional Meets, Club National Championships to State of Texas Games and/ or National Junior Olympic Championships. Our athletes compete in all events from Sprints, Distance Races, Hurdles, Relays, & Field Events including Throws, Jumps, etc.

Please arrive at the track 25 to 30 minutes early to warm up and stretch so that you're ready to begin your workout at 6:00.  Most practices will last about 75 to 90 minutes. If an athlete needs to leave practice early for any reason, it is their responsibility to inform the head coach at the beginning of practice.

In the event of inclement weather, each athlete's parents should make their own decision on whether to come to practice.  Practices will normally be held, but may be cancelled at the last minute if the weather is a problem.  If practice is called off early enough, we will try to e-mail all athletes and parents that we have e-mail addresses for, and also post a notice on our club web site.

Running Shoes are worn at our practices not Track Spikes. Athlete wears Track Spikes when we are event timing on select days. The club also encourages parents to attend our practices.

What is Age Group Track?

Age Group Track is just as the name implies: Track & Field Competition based on an athlete's age in the current calendar year.

*AAU Separate Age Division

USA T&F, AAU & TAAF Track & Field Competition are based on an athlete's age in the current calendar year.

Effective 2013: The athlete’s YEAR OF BIRTH shall determine the appropriate age division for current year competition for all age divisions 8-Under through 15-16. The DATE of birth shall be used to determine the appropriate age division for the 17-18 age division thus assuring that any athlete that DOES NOT turn 19 before the last day of the Junior Olympic Games competition is still eligible to compete. Athletes MUST NOT turn 19 before the final day of Junior Olympic Games competition.

Example: A child turns 13 on February 15, 2023 and their friend turns 13 on November 15, 2023.  Since they were each born in 2010, USA T&F, AAU & TAAF considers them both to be 13 years old, and in the 13-14 age division for the 2023 season, even though the one born in November would actually be 12 during the season and not turn 13 until after the season is over.

Exception:  Athletes who are still eighteen (18) years of age through the final day a national track & field (Youth Athletics) meet shall be eligible to compete in the 17-18 age division.

Athletes must compete only in their own age division. No individual may compete in a younger or older age division, either in individual or relay events.

When are the meets and how do I enter them?

Track Meets are typically on Saturdays for AAU & USA T&F. We will start competing Saturday, April, 2023 in Track Meets.

An athlete wishing to compete in any of these meets must first become a member of the Heavenly Track Club.

After practices begin in early Spring, the competition season starts in late April, with meets held generally each weekend (exceptions are TAAF meets, District qualifying, Association, Regional, National qualifying and National meets) through early August.  As information on each of these meets becomes available to the Heavenly Track Club, it will be distributed to the team via e-mail and/or the Heavenly Track Club web site.

Remember:  At each meet, (17-18 Years of Age), (15-16 Years of Age), and (13-14 Years of Age) may compete in up to four (4) events, and (11-12 Years of Age), (9-10 Years of Age) and (8-Under Years of Age) may compete in up to three (3) events.

Will the Heavenly Track Club Track & Field Program help me get to these meets?

Yes, in some cases.  The athlete and their parents are, for the most part, responsible for securing their own transportation to any in-state meets.  The Heavenly Track Club might provide assistance to out-of-state national meets for athletes who have met pre-determined performance criteria and if enough funds are available.

If an athlete fourteen (14) years or younger qualifies for out-of-state competition, their parents have the responsibility of accompanying the athlete to the meet or procuring adequate supervision for the athlete before he/she will be allowed to accompany the Heavenly Track Club on the trip.

All athletes who receive assistance will be required to sign and adhere to the club's travel policy form.  Parents and athletes who make alternative housing arrangements other than at the team hotel will not be eligible for travel funds.  The criteria concerning assistance with national transportation and housing will rest with the head coach.

There will also be a practice attendance expectation during May, June and July (exceptions are athletes still competing in a High School State Track & Field Meet and/ or a High School National Track & Field  Meet).

What are the parents' roles in the Heavenly Track Club Track & Field Program?

Parents are strongly encouraged to be involved in the support of the Heavenly Track Club Track & Field Program.  The Athletes, Coaches, Parents, Volunteers help is vital to our club success and our fund-raising efforts.  The Heavenly Track Club Track & Field Program might have a track meet and/or other fund-raising activities.

The club encourages parents to attend our practices. Parents are also encouraged to represent the club at meets by wearing a Heavenly Track Club T-shirt.

How can I stay up-to-date on Heavenly Track Club Track & Field Program happenings?

The best way to stay "in the know" is to periodically check the Heavenly Track Club web site for updates.  Plus, make sure the Head Coach knows your e-mail address, as occasional announcements, reminders, or other news items are e-mailed to parents and athletes.

Some Heavenly Track Club activity information will be distributed and/or discussed at practices.
