Peninsula Youth Football and Cheerleading Organization Has a Zero Tolerance Policy

The Peninsula Youth Football and Cheerleading Organization as a zero tolerance policy

The PYFCO Board of Directors have Unanimously  approved a zero tolerance policy related to inappropriate behavior at practices, games, and PYFCO sponsored activities. The Board feels that league officials ,Coaches,Players,Parents, and Spectators should be productive in seeking a safe and instructive environment for children without the threat of violence, inappropriate behavior or language on the sidelines. While most inappropriate behavior is obvious , the actions that will not be tolerated include ,but are not limited to the following.

1. Parents and Fans on the field without permission .

2. Inappropriate Language .

3. Yelling negative comments at the referees, coaches,or players.

4.Instigating players,parents,and referee's.

5. Trashing the field.

6. Attending events drunk or smelling of alcohol or under the influence of illicit drugs.

7.Physical displays of aggression or threats of physical aggression.

8.Any action that referees or coaches deem to be inappropriate of individual has previously been asked to stop doing. any player, coach, official, parent or fan participating in inappropriate behavior will be ejected from the game.

In cases where the offending party does not leave the area, then the PYFCO president , commissioners, and the individual league president will have the authority to immediately call the police and have the offender removed. A league report will be filed, and if the same person is ejected twice, they will no longer be allowed to attend PYFCO events. Based on the nature of the offense charges may be filed against the individual. threats or physical displays of aggression will be reported to the police.

Failure of leagues to enforce this policy may result in forfeiture of games. PYFCO hopes these policies will ensure a safe, tolerable environment for your family to be around and your children to play in.

Thank you for doing your part to help. Every official , coach, player, parent and spectator must abide by this policy.

Academic All-Stars Awards

Academic All-Stars Awards: In recognition of their academic success, all participants of PYFCO who meet the eligibility requirements as identified in these by-laws, will receive an Academic All-Star Award. This award is a patch for the football players and a pin for cheerleaders. A committee consisting of representatives from each league and one PYFCO Board member as the Chairperson will determine which participants have met the eligibility requirements. The report card for the final marking period of the previous school year (includes kindergartners) will be utilized to determine Academic All-Star recipients. Only Core subjects will be considered - Reading, English, Spelling, Math, Social Studies, Science, Language Arts, History and Foreign Languages.

(NOTE: Not all schools consider Computer Classes a "core" subject. Please only count if it is considered a core subject for child's school.)

If a subject is not listed above, then the league Academic All-star representative can ask the PYFCO Academic All-star Chairperson for a decision on whether or not the subject can be included in the calculation for the award.

All participants MUST meet the PYFCO basic age requirement of being 6 years old by September 30th of the current year in order to be eligible for this award.

A - 4
B - 3
C - 2
D - 1
F - 0

To get the average, add up the number of points for each subject that is counted and then divide the total by the number of classes counted.

You get .3 for a "+" (B+ = 3.3). You get -.3 for a "-" (B- = 2.7).
For an A+, you still get 4.

For kids in grades without letter grades, we break it down according to the code on the report card - Top level is a 4, Next level is a 3, and so on (example - Outstanding, 1 or "on grade level" = 4, Satisfactory, 2 or "consistently demonstrates" = 3, Needs Improvement, 3 or "below grade level" = 2).

All core subjects will be counted - Reading, English, Spelling, Math, Social Studies, Science, Language Arts, History and Foreign Languages. (NOTE: Not all schools consider Computer Classes a "core" subject. Please only count if it is considered a core subject for child's school.) We do not count Physical Education, Art, Drama, Band, or Choir. If a subject isn't on the list, then the league Academic All-star representative can ask the PYFCO Academic All-star Chairperson for a decision on whether or not the subject can be included in the calculation for the award.

Scale - 3.0 - 3.5 - Silver
3.51-4.0 - Gold

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO INDICATE ON LIST TURNED INTO PRESIDENT WHAT DIVISION THE PLAYER/CHEERLEADER IS IN AND WHETHER ITS FOR A SILVER OR GOLD ACADEMIC AWARD!
