Claremont Girls Volleyball Thanks Its Fans For Their Enthusiastic Support All Season
WE LOVE OUR FANS! The Claremont Girls Volleyball program couldn't have asked for more tremendous support from family and community members, school staff and officials, and most especially the Claremont High School student body during the 2009 season. Your enthusiasm for our program helped boost us to match wins during the season, and, for the Varsity squad, crucial back-to-back triumphs over Baseline League rival Upland High School at season's end to earn Claremont the school's first CIF Girls Volleyball playoff berth in a decade!
Pictured is the 50-plus-strong crew of CHS students who, on Tuesday, Nov. 10, either drove themselves to Oak Hills High School in Hesperia or rode the bus provided by ASB spirit funds in support of the team during the opening round of CIF playoffs. Pumped up by the exuberant cheering, CHS came out strong to win the opening match, 25-17, before opponent Rim of the World rallied to score three wins in a row and decide the match in the Mojave River League team's favor.
New Officers Elected At Booster Meeting
At the final CHS Girls Volleyball Boosters meeting of the 2009 season, parents of players expected to return to the program next fall stepped up and into positions vacated by this year's senior parents. For a list of Booster officers, click on the Contact Info tab in the Main Menu at upper left. For those who didn't attend the meeting, you may want to check the roster; your name just may be on it!
Banquet Set For Wednesday, November 18
Mark your calendars! This year's season celebration will be held on November 18 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Cal Poly Pomona's Kellogg West. Invitations have been mailed out and need to be returned with dinner payment by Nov. 4 (player meals are provided by the boosters). For additional banquet information, contact Cathy Ford (contact information under the Contact Info tab in the menu at upper left).
Fan Photographers: We Need Your Snaps!
In order to build our season highlight reel (which will be shown at the program's celebration banquet on November 18 and is available for individual sale), we are asking for anyone with digital images of players to put those images on a CD, mark it either Frosh/Soph, JV, or Varsity, and hand it off to Jacqueline Banks or contact Vicky Walker by using the Contact Info tab in the menu at upper left.
