West Milford Little League Registration
West Milford Little League will be holding registrations for the upcoming 2010 season at Hillcrest Community Center, located on Macopin Road. Saturdays January 2nd, 9am to 12pm, Friday January 8th, 7pm to 9pm and on Saturdays January 9 th and 16th from 9am to 1pm, in person registration is encouraged for proper uniform sizing and tryout times, but not necessary. Applications are available at registration, at Hillcrest Community Center office and on line @ leaguelineup.com/wmll (handouts link). If you’re unable to attend in person registration, completed registrations may be left in the little league slot at Hillcrest Center office.
Fees, Ages 5 thru 8 $60. 9 thru 12 $80. 13 thru 16 $100. A volunteer work bond $100.00 will be required for each applicant family (see below for details)
Although Little League has no cut-off date for registrations (except age 12, must be in by Feb 23, 2010) we ask that you register your child as soon as possible, so they can be placed on a team in the appropriate manner. A $20. late fee will be added to all applications received after January 30, 2010.
New incoming 5yr olds must turn 5 by April 30, 2010 to be eligible. All applicants must reside in West Milford Township. Our senior league ages 15 and 16 is a travel program and half there games are played outside the township. If you’re experiencing financial difficulty or further information is needed, feel free to contact Danny Drexler at 973-951-4392 or at dannydrexler@hotmail.com
Volunteer/ Workbond Program
The purpose of this new program is to increase the number of volunteers to better the Little League Experience for your child.
The West Milford Little League will require each family registering a player for the 2010 Season to provide a separate/ additional check for $100. 00 to the Volunteer/ Workbond program (One check per family not per player). This check will be held by the league and not cashed. It will be destroyed provided you fulfill your required volunteer time. You may also choose a buyout of $75.00 at the time of registration. WMLL does not anticipate cashing many $100.00 checks. Our goal is not to cash any of your checks but to increase awareness of the league with each and every family.
We all pay taxes, however many of you may be surprised to know that Little League receives $0 from the Township. WMLL maintains 90% of the fields we play on and we perform all of the upgrades ourselves. We are a 100% volunteer organization and rely on the generous time of a few to run a league for close to 600 children.
When you register your child there will be a volunteer table where you can sign up for a variety of activities (see below). Each family will need to accumulate 6 points for your check to be returned (we will not prorate). Each position will earn either 3 or 6 points. While this policy will be new for West Milford it is widely used by many leagues throughout New Jersey and the U.S. Once again, WMLL has not raised registration fees keeping them among the lowest in the state. We do not require our players or families to sell raffles, candy, fundraisers or charge participation fees.
Lastly, we would like to reconfirm our commitment to the children of West Milford . WMLL will not deny any player a chance to participate based on financial ability.
