Matta Earns Honors
Jersey State Bombers Catcher Craig Matta was recently selected by Perfect Game as a Very High Honorable Mention All-Ameircan Underclassman. Matta, a Sophomore at St. Augustine Prep High School, has flirted with a 1.90 - 1.96 pop time in recent months. He will most likely be heavily scouted out of high school with hopes of obtaining a full scholarship to a great college program. Matta also carries with him a powerful bat which makes him even more valuable to any organization.
14U Navy Play in Perfect Game Regional
This past weekend, the Bombers 14u Navy participated in the 2015 Perfect Game Super 25 14u Mid-Atlantic Regional. If you don't know about Perfect Game, it is the premiere organization for high school baseball players to play in during the summer. The tournaments they host throughout the country receive the most attention from college and professional scouts. This massive regional tournament had a total of 48 teams all battling to qualify for the National tournament.
The Jersey State Bombers 14u Navy certainly came out of the gates hot winning the first 3 games. With a record of 3-0, they were seeded 10th out of the 48 teams for the playoffs. They lost in a nail-bitter to the Delaware Diamonds in the first round of the playoffs by a score of 3-0.

14u White gets back to a .500 record
After starting off the season 5-0, the Jersey State Bombers 14u white started to slide back into the losing column. Going into the weekend with a 8-10-1 record, the Bombers were eager to get back to a winning record. On Sunday (6-14-15), the Bombers had a double header against the Cherry Hill Pride. It was a beautiful day for baseball, and the games were played at Cherry Hill West High Schools' Varsity field.

Game one had another outstanding pitching performance from lefty Andrew Kotch, closed out by RHP Matt Bravyak. Offense was carried by a slew of extra base hits from Dylan Mattio, and Andrew Iamurri.
Game two was back and forth the whole game. Starting pitcher Mark Ebner kept the Bombers in the game going 4 innings. The game was relieved by the hard throwing righty, Levi Dodge. It was then closed out yet again by Matt Bravyak. Dylan Parker had a substantial day at the plate, as he hit an RBI double to get things rolling in the fourth inning. The game was won on a walk-off infield single by Matt Bravyak.

Nick Ettore recoded the win, going the first 3 innings. Ettore ran into trouble in the fourth and was relieved by Eric Sabato. Sabato came in with bases loaded and shut the door down for the remainder of the game. Sabato also helped drive the offense with a 3 run homerun that Coach Sasso stated, "was a no doubter, and cleared the fence by a good 30 feet."
Bombers Red Proves they can contend as Kotch throws a Gem.
Sunday June 29th
The 13u Bombers Red traveled to Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon to play the undefeated TSE record Liberty Bell team. It has been an up and down season for the 13u red team, but Sunday they proved that the signs up competiveness and talent is becoming more consistent.
Liberty Bell, with an 11-0 TSE record definitely overlooked the capabilities of the Bombers Red team. Liberty Bell threw one of their top pitchers, as it was one of the hardest throwers the Bombers faced all year. It was a tight game all the way to the end. Great defense and pitching made this game a nail bitter. Trevor Etkins, the Bombers center fielder, made some outstanding plays keeping them in the game and giving their pitcher, Andrew Kotch, some well deserved support. Kotch went the distance, pitching 6 innings only allowing 1 unearned run on 3 hits. Matt Lawless and Dylan Mattio had the only two hits of the game for the Bombers. The final score was 1-0 in favor of Liberty Bell. After the game, the umpire, who is a regular for Liberty Bell, commented that most teams they have played this year have been mercy ruled and it was the most competitive game he has witnessed that season. Coach Carl Taylor of the Bombers stated, “that was the best I have seen Kotch pitch all year. He was able to locate his fastball with pin point precision and keep them off balance.”
Bombers 12-U finish Fall with 11-3 record in league play.
The 2014 Jersey State Bombers 12-U squad posted a .370 team batting average this fall, a step up from this past spring / summer season, which ultimately help lead the team to a 11-3 league record. The team also carried an impressive .469 on base percentage.
The offense was powered by three hole hitter Eric Sabato who led the way with his .538 batting average, three home runs and 20 RBI'S. Not far behind him was Brandyn Pokrass who hit .500 with two home runs and 23 RBI'S. Pokrass also had an impressive 9 doubles. Nick Ettore hit .450 with two home runs and 17 RBI'S and Lloyd McLaughlin posted a .411 average with four doubles and a home run. Austin Kane contributed offensively as well with his .404 batting average, 1 home run and 16 RBI'S.
Lloyd McLaughlin set the tempo on the mound in league play while going 3-0 and holding a 2.85 ERA through 15 innings pitched. Austin Kane was 2-0 with a 5.59 ERA and Mike Ott was 4-1 with a 6.00 ERA.
Offense powered by Nate Liedtka and Matt Christopher
For many, playing at the 12U age level is a blast. Kids battle for years from the age of six to
eleven to hit their first home run and many do not accomplish this feat until twelve. It's
the year of the home run. Entering 2013, the Jersey State Bombers 12U squad had demonstrated
lots of power and everyone expected a big year from the team. Most of the hitters on the team have
been getting instruction from We Drop Bombs for 3-4 years and have really developed in to
some fine young hitters. There are twelve year olds that impress and put up good numbers
and then there are freak twelve year olds that just drop your jaw.
Through 57 games, Nate Liedtka put up an astonishing 125 RBI'S and blasted 38 home runs all while holding
a solid batting average of .541. "Everyone in the stands looked forward to watching Nate come up to bat. They
were all anxious to see what tree, building, car or sign he was going to hit on the other side of the fence. Liedtka's
home runs were always well hit over the fence and cleared it by several feet." Said General Manager, Al Roach.
When it comes to power, Matty Christopher is a legend in his age group.
Christopher is known for his rocket of an arm on the hill and spontaneous bat speed. He is the type of
hitter that will be blasting balls well over the fence through high school, college and possibly beyond. Through
58 games this season, Christopher collected 91 RBI'S on 31 Home Runs. He carried the offense with Liedtka
while hitting .526 and leading the team with 94 runs scored.
While posting a 43-15 record, of those 15 losses, 7 games were lost by one or two runs. In addition not all games were necessarily played to only win but were rather factored in for development. Our number one goal is teaching
the game of baseball and we need to give opportunities to players at different positions to help them prepare for playing high school and college.
"I am very proud of the team. They played well all season long and if they had a bad game, they bounced back right away." Said coach Chris Murray. The 2013 spring and summer season was Murray's last season as head coach as he will be stepping down in order to per sue his career in the mortgage business. "It's hard for me to move past coaching as I really enjoyed it and had the opportunity to meet many nice people. Even though I will not be the head coach, I will still stop in here and there to catch a game when I can." Said Murray.
On June 29th the 14-U Bombers took on the Wenonah Indians in an afternoon double header. In game one, Doug Ergood literally stole the show while stealing five bases. Doug's brother, Joe Ergood went two for two with two runs scored and two RBI's. First basemen, Joe Matlack also went two for two with two RBI's. Tim Pasquale pounded a double in the contest and added three RBI's. Pasquale also got the win while pitching five innings. He had five strikeouts and six earned runs. The final score was 12-7.
In game two, Joe Matlack threw six innings while striking out six and only giving up one earned. Paul Ravelli was one for one with a double and two RBI's. Mike Dziuba was two for three with two runs scored while brother Matt Dziuba was one for two with two runs scored. The Bombers put up a monster eight run first inning which was capped off by Ravelli's double. The final score ended in a 13-2 mercy.
On Sunday June 30th, the Bombers took a game from Gloucester TWP Baseball. Paul Ravelli got the nod by coach Lydon. Ravelli threw five innings and allowed no earned runs. He had four strikeouts. Offensively, Rich Ferrelli started the scoring by driving in the first run in the top of the fifth. Ethan Horner later added another one with another single. Doug Ergood doubled in and RBI and cap off a six run fifth inning for the Bombers. The game finished 6-0 through five innings.
"Overall I was impressed with the way they finished the games out. They didn't quit at any point and they fought hard. I was glad to see the offense put up big numbers. We had 31 runs in the three games." Said Coach Lydon.
Bombers 12 Blue Win Blast at the Beach Tournament
Liedtka, Graham & Christopher having field day with opponent's pitching
20 games played: Team Batting AVG: .400, hits: 208, home runs: 45, RBI's: 200
Through Memorial Day Weekend, the 12-U Jersey State Bombers Blue competed in the fifth annual Blast at the Beach tournament in Manahawkin, NJ.
On Saturday the team played a double header, first facing the Freehold Warriors, where Nate Liedtka got the nod. The combined pitching effort between Liedtka and Michael Rotindo kept the Warriors to only two runs. The offense was also powered by Nate Liedtka who hammered two home runs and collected 5 RBI's in the contest. Matt Christopher was 2 for 3 and EJ Mangione was 2 for 2. Michael Rotindo had 3 RBI's and Cooper Quigley had two RBI's. The final score was Bombers 12 and the Warriors 2. The game was shortened to 4 innings with the ten run mercy rule in effect.
In game two on the day, the Bombers played the SEPA Knights who hail from south eastern Pennsylvania. They were no match for the Bombers bats once again as they put up double digit runs. Nate Liedtka hit his third home run of the tournament. There were doubles by Sean Dugan, Matt Christopher, Garrett Carella and Ryan Feig. Ryan Graham was 3 for 3, Sean Dugan was 2 for 3 and Nate Liedtka was two for three with 3 RBI's. The Bombers defense was solid in this game as catcher EJ Mangione threw out two base-runners attempting to steal second base. The final score was 10-5.
On Sunday there was only one game played and it was against the Mayslanding Landsharks. This game also ended in 4 innings as the Bombers tacked on ten more runs in a 10-0 victory. Matty Christopher blasted two home runs in the game while collecting 4 RBI's. Combined EJ Mangione and Nick Dziuba pitched a no hitter in the four inning game.
Going in to the playoffs on Monday, the Bombers were the number one seed in the tournament so they had a bye. Game one was played against the Mayslanding Muckdogs. The game was close 2-1 with the Muckdogs on top until the bottom of the 5th inning which is when the Bombers put up three runs to go ahead 4-2. Matt Christopher was 2 for 3 with a triple and an RBI. EJ Mangione and Nate Liedtka also both had RBI's. Nate Liedtka started on the hill and threw three innings while striking out 4. Christopher finished the last three while only giving up two runs and striking out 5. The final ended up being 4-2 with the Bombers on top.
The championship game was no match for the Bombers offense as the power continued. There were three doubles in the contest, one from second basemen Garrett Carella, Utility player Nick Dziuba and outfielder Cooper Quigley. Home runs came off the bat of Carella, Ryan Feig, Ryan Graham and a grand slam by Nate Liedtka. Ryan Graham threw three innings while only giving up three runs and EJ Mangione finished off the fourth inning with a 1,2,3 inning. For the third time in their 5-0 performance in the tournament, the Bombers beat their opponent by 10 or more runs. The final score was 13-3 through four innings of play.

Ryan Graham: .533 Avg, 5 doubles, 8 home runs and 31 RBI's
Matt Christopher: .450 Avg, 5 doubles, 9 home runs and 28 RBI's
Graham Blasts 5 Home Runs in Tournament
Over the weekend of April 27th & 28th, the Jersey State Bombers 12 Blue went 2-1 in a Tag-Em Tournament held in Hamilton, NJ.
The bats were definitely alive most of the weekend as the team pounded 11 home runs in the three games.
Ryan Graham connected for three home runs on Friday night, along with a solo home run by Ryan Feig and a two run shot by Nate Liedtka. However Graham was not done as he bounced back on Sunday with two grand slams in one game against the Hamilton A’s. Offensively, Graham carries a .630 batting average with 6 home runs and 22 RBI’s through seven games.
The Team is 6-1 so far with 20 home runs and a .484 team batting average.
On the season, Nate Liedtka leads the team with a .682 batting average. He also has three home runs and 21 RBI’s in just seven games. Sean Dugan is next on the board with a .647 average with three doubles and a home run. Garrett Carella is hitting .556 with two doubles and a home run.
Matty Christopher has played an important role both offensively and defensively. Christopher has 5 home runs and 16 RBI’s in just 7 games. He has really been dominating on the mound with a much improved fast ball. His off speed keeps hitters off balance and the positive behind it is that he can throw it for a strike pretty often.
They look to continue their season this weekend playing in Flemington, NJ in a Diamond Nation Tournament.
11-U Bombers off to good Start
Through their first weekend of game play, the Bombers are 2-0 with wins over the Seneca War Eagles, 12-0 and the South Jersey Cyclones, 19-4. In game one against the War Eagles, Ryan Graham took the hill throwing 49 pitches and striking out eight in four innings. Graham also went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double and a single, collecting 3 RBI's. Big hits came off the bat of Austin Angradi and Michael Ross. Angradi's single late in the game plated two. Lloyd McLaughlin also had two singles and an RBI. "The team had good descipline at the plate and I was happy with the line-up finding ways on base. These are things we need to do all season." Said Coach Leadbeater.
In game two on Sunday, the Bombers stuck with what they did on Saturday, they hit the ball. They posted 24 hits in the game against the Cyclones. The offense was basically led by the entire team. Lloyd McLaughlin collected four hits on the day, Nick Ettore had three hits and two RBI's, Jack Reid knocked in two runs with two singles and a double. Eric Ulisse had four singles and an RBI. Mike Ott had two singles, a double and two RBI's. "Just about everyone is contributing offensively and I hope it continues in to our first tournament on April 20th. The confidence is high right now.....the confidence is high." Said Coach Leadbeater. Christian Overton had a single and a double, Jack Kelly was 2 for 3 with two singles and Ivan Ruble was 1 for 3 with a single.
The 11U Bombers look to keep the momentum going this weekend April 20th in a TSE League Tournament.
11yr old Blue Team posted 47 Home Runs and a Team Batting Average of almost .400
For the 11-Blue team, success was expected for the 2012 spring/summer season, however
injuries definitely prevented the team from performing at their full potential.
Even with injuries the team was able to post 47 home runs which is not something you hear
every day. "I never imagined an 11 year old team hitting this well. Just about every team we
played had somewhere between 1-20 home runs as a team, with anything above 15 being
uncommon. I looked forward to coming to every game. Al has done a great job working with
the kids on their swing and I'm not so sure what to expect for the fall." said coach Murray.
In one tournament at Sports at the Beach, they collected 8 of their team's 47 home runs.

The 13u Jersey State Bombers Red has played a difficult schedule thus far and are truly better than the record indicates. The product on the field has elevated by immense amounts since the beginning of the season and is/will continue to get better as the season progresses. The motto of the Bombers Red is, "It doesn't take talent to hustle" and since this team has a lot of talent from top to bottom, this squad could be pretty good.
The team batting average is just over the .300 mark which is perfectly accepted when combined with the team .451 on base percentage.
Here is a breakdown player by player:
Joey Degenova has been a staple in the top of the lineup with a solid plate presence, good speed and the ability to get on base to start things up for the offense. Joey has the ability to hit line drives gap-to-gap and is a smart base runner which allows coach Sasso to utilize fake steals, hit and run's etc. in order to facilitate things in the order. In the field he plays mostly 2nd base where he is improving everyday due to his willingness to learn and eagerness to get better with instruction and more reps.
Carl Phillips hits 2nd in the order and is a solid player wherever he hits and plays. He has an uncanny ability to hit the ball all over the field which is crucial out of your 2 hole hitter in moving runners and keeping the defense honest. In the field, Carl can play anywhere from catcher to pitcher to infield to outfield, he is a true student of the game and plays it the way it should be played. Phillips is hitting .396 with 13 walks and an on base percentage of .532.
Max Szamreta is in the 3-hole where he has a great approach at the plate, with ability to drive in runs and is a tough out. Once he gets on base he is one of the intelligent/solid base runners as there is for a 13 year old, having the ability to steal bases and reading balls to advance extra bases, In the field he can play every position on the field and is vital to the 13U-Red success on the mound. Szamreta has a solid .400 average on the season with 5 doubles and 12 walks. His .556 on base
Jake Fernandez is primarily our Center Fielder who is fearless in the field, on the bases and at bat. Defensively he is very good and at the plate is producing since he is aggressive early in counts and puts pressure on the defense when he gets behind. Jake is one of our on and off field leaders and does that by example and the heart he plays with day in and day out.
Max Gussen "Goose" has been getting better everyday by implementing instruction into his game and it has been showing. His ability to drive in runs and keep the opposition from scoring has helped our team tremendously. In the field he plays outfield, 3rd base and pitcher and excels at each of those positions. Gussen, is hitting .353 with a pair of doubles through 51 at bats
Robby Koveleskie is an outfielder/pitcher who has a cannon for an arm and when he can harness those strengths is among the best at each position. At the plate Robby has good gap to gap power and is very versatile.
Tommy Robinson is our shortstop but also finds time in the outfield and on the hill. He is versatile in the field and at the plate. Tommy can hit very well, bunt or hit and run and does his job with a smile on his face. He is the type of young man who is always looking to get better and takes in information and instruction and implements that into his game. Robinson’s bat carries a .324 average on the season.
Matt Dziuba plays 1st base and would get coach Sasso's award for Most Improved Player since he joined the bombers in the fall. He loves the game of baseball and wants to learn more and get better at every chance he gets. At the plate Matt has good power and very fast hands which have contributed to some of his success this year.
Timmy Pasquale can play multiple positions with efficiency (pitcher, outfield, 3rd/2nd). Timmy has some of the best hitting mechanics I have seen in a 13 year old player and if he gets a good swing on the ball it jumps off his bat. He has started to come around on the mound and will be vital to our success moving forward.
Mike Dziuba is a raw player and with that comes raw power. He has a solid arm and top of the line with speed. Each practice Mike is getting better fundamentally which helps him display his natural abilities as an athlete. Mike plays in the outfield for the Bombers and is learning the game more and more which in addition to his athleticism could make his 2nd half of the season a great one.
"All in all the u13 Jersey State Bombers Red has a great group of young men who have the ability to play with anyone as long as they trust their abilities and have confidence. We have played upper echelon teams from around the area and have been more than competitive. The last leg of the season will be a great test to see how far we have come and what areas need to be addressed going forward. Personally as the coach, I couldn't ask for a better group of young men to share my knowledge and expertise in the game of baseball. Be ready when you play the Bombers Red because we will play the game the way it should be played." Said Coach Sasso
13 Red Wins War at the Shore
On the July 7th & 8th weekend, the Jersey State Bombers 13 Red squad went to battle in Cape May where they played in their last tournament of their season, The War at the Shore.
Throughout the tournament, the Bombers actually played up and competed against 14-U teams. TheBombers were able to go 4-0 beating three different teams. This marked the first Tournament win for the 13 Red Bombers this season. The final scores from each game were 10-3 vs Clifton Park A, 13-7 vs Clifton Park B, 9-3 vs Sting Rays Baseball and 10-2 in the Finals vs Clifton Park B.
The offense, defense and pitching were all very solid throughout the tournament. Routine plays were made in the field, pitchers threw strikes and there was plenty of timely hitting. Pitchers, Max Szamreta, Robby Koveleskie and Carl Phillips did a great job at keeping the opponents off balance at the plate. In addition Jake Fernandez and Robby Koveleskie made some fantastic catches in the outfield keeping us in every game.

"On Fire"
Herman & Knapp A Hit on the Hill**11-U Offense Dirty***10-U Showing Some Good Signs
Tyler Herman and Josh Knapp can deal all day and against any team. Herman threw a complete game shut out Saturday in Game one of the Ocean County Slug-fest Tournament. He only allowed two hits and two walks while striking out three. Josh Knapp threw six scoreless innings in game two of the Ocean County Slug-Fest. Knapp posted six strike outs while only allowing two hits and one walk. The offense didn't exactly help the situation which is why the 13U Bombers Blue went 1-1 in day one of the tournament.
Mike Christopher is ripping the cover off the ball for 13 Blue. He is leading the team in several different categories. His team high's are in AVG. .462, Hits 12, Doubles 4, On Base Percentage .588, Slugging Percentage .615 and OPS (On Base-Plus-Slugging) 1.204. Christopher's mental approach at the plate is really paying off. He is confident, swinging at the right pitches and he is relaxed, which are the top three things in having a great mental approach. Way to go Slugger!!!!
11-U Blue's Nate Liedtka (pictured) has been powering up as of lately. He has an astonishing 5 home runs in his last 8 games. The season stats show that the slugger's doing his job as a middle of the line up hitter. Liedtka has a .457 batting average with 3 doubles, 5 home runs, 17 RBI's and an impressive .846 slugging percentage. "Liedtka has definitely been a big contributor to the team's 137 runs scored for the 14-5 Bombers. We are happy to have him on our squad and we look forward to every time he gets up to bat", said Coach Murray.
Matty Christopher blasted two home runs on Saturday May 5th to help the Bombers get their 7th straight league win against Next Level Baseball. Christopher, just like his brother, leads his team in several categories. Matt's team leading categories are his .489 batting average, 7 doubles, 6 home runs, OBP .593, SLUGG 1.021 and Cockiness when he hit's a bomb 9,999,999,999,999.
Dylan Kleiner (pictured) hit his first home run as a Bomber as he cleared the 220 foot fence in Mansfield on Sunday, May 6th. Kleiner has been hitting more consistent lately and has boosted his average near the .300 mark.
Ryan Feig (pictured) also hit his second homer of the season on Sunday, May 6th. Feig carries a very solid .419 average (4th) with 2 doubles and 2 home runs on the season.
Ryan Graham is also lights out on the hill. He is keeping the ball down and striking out hitters at will. "When we need to shut the door on the other team, Ryan is the man for the job." said Coach Murray.
11-U Red's three hole hitter, Jarrad Dittmer (pictured), has been pretty consistent all season. He leads his team in hits (18), average (.581), doubles (6), triples (1), home runs (1), RBI's (12), OBP (.639) & Slugging (.935). The bottom line is, he is the MAN.
Derek Thomas (pictured) seems to be one of the more dominating pitchers in the league. Thomas is throwing complete games and having much success. His fastball is straight cheese as he paints the outside corner fanning and freezing up hitters. Thomas is also helping himself out when he pitches by hitting the ball well. He is third on the team with a .409 batting average and a solid .500 on base percentage.
Ryan Wainwright (pictured) is second on the 11 Red in average (.500) and RBI's (10). Wainwright is holding up strong on defense and coming up big on the mound holding opponents to just a few runs per game. "The ability to utilize Ryan at first, third, pitcher and catcher has helped us is so many ways defensively. He is fundamentally sound and I am glad to have him on my team", said Coach Taylor.
Chase Cooper, the leadoff man, is second in AVG (.421) and OBP (.542). "I really like him in the lead-off spot and when he gets on, I know we are going to score runs," said Coach Leadbeater.
Jon Brown and Austin Angradi are both at the .400 mark. Brown has 5 RBI's, 10 Walks and a .535 OBP. Angradi has 8 RBI's, 9 walks and a .561 OBP. "We couldnt ask for more out of these two as of lately, we really hope they keep swinging it like they are," said Coach Leadbeater. "I really like Jon Brown's athletic ability, very flexibile, quick and coordinated. He is going to keep progressing and I see a strong future for him in baseball. I also see a lot of improvement in Angradi from when he first started coming to our facility in the fall, his swing is a world of difference and he has the ability to really do some damage in the middle of the line up if he gets his pitch." said GM Roach.
Evan Grzeskiewicz and Christian Overton are holding their own at the .303 mark. "Both of these players give everything they have every game to help the team win. They both show great signs of coachability and are getting better and better every day." Said GM Roach.
Mike Ott, Lloyd McLaughlin, Ivan Ruble, Dominic Rodriguez and Tyrese Williams are all pulling together and starting to hit the ball. They are starting to get comfortable and relax more at the plate compared to earlier in the season. The results show as they are poking line drives now and again through the infield.
Nate Liedtka Goes Deep
Behind the bat and pitching arm of Nathan Liedtka, the Bombers posted 12 runs on 12 hits Wednesday night against Next Level Baseball.
Liedtka threw 5 innings with only allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. The highlight of the game was the monster shot that Liedtka sent in to the
clouds for his fourth home run in 2011. Matt Christopher also stood out with his sixth inning performance on the hill by throwing nasty smelly gas.

With an 18-6 record, a Bomb Central hitting order and a dynamite pitching staff, the Bombers 11U Blue
may be one of the best teams around.
Believe it or not the Bombers outscored their opponents 49-14 in a very competitive Diamond Nation Tournament. It was a twenty team tournament, the largest the team has ever participated in and it was their second tournament title this fall.
Matt Christopher and Ryan Graham stole the show with their tournament MVP performances.
The lights went out early in game one vs the ASBA Warminster squad. Ryan Graham threw a remarkable 39 pitches in three innings. He collected six strikeouts and only allowing three hits. Carella polished off the last three hitters in the fourth
to help the bombers cruise to a 14-1 victory. In game one Ryan Graham and Matt Christopher were both 3 for 3 while Sal Cusumano went 2 for 2. The Bombers posted 14 hits in the contest.
Game two was another blow out pushing Arsenal to the side after putting up 8 hits and 11 walks and beating their opponent 17-2. Nick Dziuba and EJ Mangione combined for the three inning mercy-ruled game. Dziuba and Mangione both put up two strikeouts a piece. G-Unit, a.k.a. Garrett Carella, put up two hits while collecting three RBI's.
Nate Liedtka took care of business on the hill in game three while only throwing 59 pitches. Through 5 innings, Liedtka only allowed two runs while striking out four. Graham closed the game in the sixth. EJ Mangione and Dylan Kleiner led the way for the Bombers offense by each adding two hits a piece including a double for each of them.
Game four was a bit more interesting as the Kingsbridge USC Knights dressed a large group of 13 yr olds. However, their size was no threat to the Bombers. Matt Christopher and Garrett Carella both pounded doubles. Christopher and Nick Dziuba finished off with two hits a piece in the first playoff game. Ryan Graham threw four innings while giving up four runs and striking out two. Christopher also contributed by pitching the 5th and 6th innings to help close the door and finalize the 8-6 win. There was a bit of a controversy with the final out as there was an appeal to the home plate umpire on a great play by first basemen Sean Dugan. Dugan apparently dove back to the bag on a wild throw. The base umpire originally called him safe. Coach Chris Murray ran out and argued to check with the home plate umpire which then resulted in the changed call.
The Championship game was all EJ Mangione for 5 innings. EJ shut them down while only allowing one run in 5 full innings pitched. The defense was outstanding as well keeping them in the entire game. The final ended up being 5-4 as Lehigh Valley added on a few runs in the sixth. Garrett Carella and Nick Dziuba both contributed two hits in the championship. The Bombers put up a total of 5 runs with 11 hits. Doubles came from Cooper Quigley, Dylan Kleiner, EJ Mangione and Nick Dziuba. Congratulations to the 11-U Blue.
Bombers take Medford Game 7-3
The combined pitching performances from the Marlton Duo Matt Bravyak and Cameron Vinson silence the Medford bats allowing only three runs in the contest. Vinson allowed no runs on no hits in the final three innings.
“The Defense was solid all the way around. Everyone stayed focused for all six innings” said assistant coach John Heslin.
The offense was led by Ryan Craig and Max Sakach who each posted two hits. Chris Boyce also had 2 RBI’s in the game.
Sakach leads the team with a .368 batting average. Following him are Craig at .344 and Chris Boyce at .343 Mike castellano
is leading the team with an impressive .587 on base percentage, while Ryan Craig follows right behind him with a .543 OBP.

Over the September 17th & 18th weekend, the Jersey State Bombers 11 year old Blue team headed down to Sports at the Beach located in Rehoboth, Delaware to participate in this year's Fall Classic Tournament. The outcome was Bombers!!! Bombers!!! Bombers!!!. They posted an astonishing 5-0 record throughout the weekend, crowning them tournament champions. Three of the wins were come from behind wins in the last inning. Very Exciting Baseball!!!!!
In game one the Bombers beat the Delaware Blue Hens 6-5 in a sloppy & wet game while rain continued to fall the entire afternoon. Nick Dziuba pitched well striking out five in three innings pitched. EJ Mangione shut the door down throwing only 19 pitches and allowing no hits in the last three innings. Mangione and Dugan were 2-3 in the contest. Carella posted 2 RBI's, Quigley and Welling both had RBI's as well with Welling's being the walk off. Kleiner and Heslin both also added singles.
Game two was a bit more interesting as the game went on in the night. The game didnt start until 5:45pm forcing the two teams to play the final inning in a near pitch black environment. Ryan Graham, Matt Christopher and EJ Mangione all combined for a good pitching performance. Sal Cusumano and Matt Christopher both went 3 for 3 while totaling 3 RBI'S. Mangione added a double and Carella, Graham, Dugan and Heslin all added singles to combine for an additional 3 RBI's. The total score ended up being Bombers 7 and the SJ Young Guns 5.
Game three was against the BCC Bombers. It was 3-1 going in to the last inning with the JS Bombers down. The bottom of the sixth was led of by a Garrett Carella walk only to be followed by more walks, hits and errors on the defense. Cooper Quigley had the game tying single while Nick Dziuba had the walk off single to score the go ahead run. One of the highlights of the game was a catch by Sal Cusumano in centerfield, he came up firing to the plate to nail a tagging runner which would have made the difference in this game. Final Score Jersey State Bombers 4 and the BCC Bombers 3.
Shortly after a great come from behind win the Bombers took on the Gallagher Select who were also 3-0 in the tournament. Ryan Graham stole the show on the mound by pitching all six innings. In those six innings, Graham only threw 56 pitches. Mangione was 2 for 2 with a double and a single. Welling was also 2 for 2 with two singles and an RBI. Ryan Graham added two hits with one being a double off the top of the left field wall, a ball that would have gone out if the wind wasn't blowing in. Carella, Quigley, Dugan and Dziuba also had doubles totaling 3 RBI'S amongst them. The final score was Bombers 7 and the Gallagher Select 2.
Immediately following game four, the Bombers played game five against the Delaware Rockets for the tournament championship. The game turned in to a blow out. The Bombers offense blew up with 17 hits. Matt Christopher showed off his power by blasting two home runs over the 200 ft fence. Garrett Carella also peaced on a ball to center field that was no more than 33 feet off the ground, give or take 4 inches for his first home run of the fall season. Ryan Graham stands out again going 3 for 4 with an RBI. Sean Dugan was 2 for 3, Nick Dziuba was 2 for 2, Sal Cusumano was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI'S and Dylan Kleiner and Jack Welling both had singles. EJ Mangione had a phenomenal pitching performance going all five innings and keeping the opponent at only 3 runs. At the end of the championship game Bombers Catcher / Pitcher EJ Mangione was awarded the MVP of the tournament. Final score was Bombers 13 and the Rockets 3.

It only took one game in to the fall season for Ryan Graham to jump on the board. Home Run numero uno came for the stellar ten year old who can pretty much play any position on Saturday afternoon. Graham was 2 for 4 on the day with 3 RBI's. The 10-0 win over GVAA in a league game put the Jersey State Bombers 11-U squad at 1-0 on the season.
As always the offense came ready to go. Matt Christopher and Cooper Quigley both brought their bats to the game as they combined for 7 hits with Quigley having four and Christopher with three. Carella added a two for three day with a bomb of a double that nearly went out. Nick Dziuba and EJ Mangione were also 2 for 4 on the day. Sean Dugan and Tim Heslin also added singles in the contest. The team put up a total of 17 hits with four doubles, one home run, seven walks and nine total RBI's on the day.
Everyone is starting to get used to the bats pounding the ball every game but one thing that sparked a great fall season opener is the way the defense executed plays. With exception to the last inning on defense, the Bombers looked great. There was an excellent run down play on a runner going to 2nd between 2nd basemen Garrett Carella and 1st basemen Sean Dugan to get the second out in the 2nd inning.
Graham also had a nice pick-off play to SS Matt Christopher to nail a base runner with a big lead. Graham pitched three innings while only throwing 23 pitches. He only let up two hits and struck out three. Nick Dziuba pitched two innings with 16 pitches, no hits and two strikeouts. Cooper Quigley and Sean Dugan combined their efforts on the hill in the sixth to finish off the game.
Bombers 10U Blue Team wins Gloucester Township 11U Tournament with a 4-1 record.
In this tournament, the Bombers played up an age level to take on some 11-U teams in the area.
Wins came against Mt. Laurel, Washington Twp, Cherry Hill and then Mt Laurel again in the Championship game. The only loss of the tournament came in an ugly defensive game to Marlton.
In game one, Marlton came out on top 6-4 despite out hitting them. The Bombers had 9 hits in the contest while Marlton only had 5. EJ Mangione went 3-3 with 2 RBI’s and Nate Liedtka went 2-2 with 2 RBI’s. Hits also came off the bats of Matt Christopher, Ryan Graham, Jake Bianco and Cole Shontz.
In game two, the Bombers blew away Mt. Laurel 11-1. Nathan Liedtka hit a double in the bottom of the fourth inning to put the 10 run rule in effect. Garrett Carella and Cooper Quigley both went
2 for 2 with 2 RBI’s each. Sean Dugan and Ryan Graham were both 2 for 3 with an RBI. EJ Mangione, Matt Christopher and Dylan Kleiner all had a hit a piece as well. New up and coming star Nick Dziuba pitched two innings with no hits and 3 K’s.
Bombers took care of business against Washington Twp in game three winning 8-0. EJ Mangione was 2-2 and Ryan Graham was 2-3. Cooper Quigley pitched the first two innings while only giving up one hit. Nick Dziuba came in to relief in the third inning posting two strikeouts. Sean Dugan followed by pitching the last two innings while giving up no hits.
Game four was a massacre with the Bombers posting up 18 runs. The Bombers put up 20 hits in the game with Ryan Graham, Matt Christopher and Cooper Quigley leading the way with 10 hits combined. Quigley came up with three doubles and Christopher posted two. EJ Mangione, Nate Liedtka, Cole Shontz, Sean Dugan and Nick Dziuba all had two hits in the contest.
Graham threw 13 pitches in two innings striking out four of their hitters. Quigley and Carella both threw one inning a piece. Through four innings combined there were 42 pitches thrown and six strikeouts.
Mt. Laurel went down easy in the Championship game once again as the Bombers post a 13-3 win with a walk-off 10 run rule mercy hit by Cole Shontz. Liedtka was 3-3, Quigley was 2-2, Shontz was 2-3, Dziuba was 2-2 and Ryan Graham was 2 for 3. Nate Liedtka, Matty Christopher and Nick Dziuba combined for the pitching effort in the victory.
