Welcome to Redding American Legion Baseball
We want to welcome you to the 2009 Redding American Legion Baseball Program! Redding hosts 4 teams and over 75 local players in their quest to improve their skills, work toward playing at the next level, and most importantly is to have fun. Each team is a little different, but while their routine may differ, the approach and philosophy remain the same.

The Redding Rattlers is the oldest team in the organization housing those players at the U19 level. In most cases, these players either are at the college level and/or are moving into the collegiate ranks.

The Redding American Legion Baseball Program hosts 3 "Junior Level" U17 teams. The Redding Diamondbacks is the junior team that has the most extensive travel schedule among the clubs. These players are usually the top younger varsity players. The D-Backs work hard at skill development and preparation for playing at the high school - varsity level as well as to prep for college. Due to the historic amount of players that came out to tryouts this year, we have an additional junior team this season. The Redding Sidewinders and the Redding Cobras players have been equally spilt up to create two additional strong junior teams within the organization. They both will compete at the "Junior League" U17 level just as the D-Backs do. These players are some varsity players, but most are high school junior varsity players. The emphasis for these clubs is a lot of skill development and shared (but not equal) playing time. The Sidewinders and Cobras play more games here locally, rather than a lot of travel. This helps to defer the cost and allows them to play more ball games.

If you have any questions, contact Program Director Bob Anderson at (530) 227-7953.
