US LACROSSE REQUIREMENT

• US Lacrosse Membership is required, as it provides additional liability insurance.

• US Lacrosse membership information can be found on their website: http://www.uslacrosse.org/membership.aspx

• All renewing members MUST renew now regardless of expiration date.  

• Your US Lacrosse expiration date must be after June 15, 2017.

• US Lacrosse Membership fees are paid directly to US Lacrosse on their website:

• $25.00 - Players under the age of 15

• $35.00 - Players age 15-18

Important Steps to Verify the Age of Your Child with US Lacrosse

1. Scan or take a photo of your child’s birth certificate or state issued ID.

2. Log into your USLacrosse.org account, not your child’s.

3. Upload your scan or photo of birth certificate or ID to US Lacrosse’s online system.

4. US Lacrosse will review your documentation, record the birth date in their system and then permanently delete your uploaded document.

5. You’ll receive a confirmation email when complete. This is a one-time process that is good for the lifetime of your child’s membership.

ASSESSMENT OF FEE, THE FOLLOWING ARE COVERED IN THE SEASON EXPENSE:

• Training aids, field supplies, balls, equipment, maintenance of equipment, officials, coaches, pinnies/uniforms, arena or gym rental and league registration.

FEE DOES NOT INCLUDE:  

• ANNUAL US LACROSSE MEMBERSHIP DUES:  Required to play (see above)

• GEAR: Required for Play

• Boys:  Helmet, lacrosse stick, gloves, elbow pads, shoulder pads, colored mouth guard, and  protective cup.  Cleats are recommended

• Girls:  Protective eyewear, colored mouthguard and  lacrosse stick. Cleats are recommended.

• FEES ALSO DO NOT INCLUDE TRAVEL EXPENSES

THIRD PAYMENT,  CHECK - PAYABLE TO GRALA FOR FUNDRAISING VOLUNTEER WORK $50.00

• SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER TO WORK EITHER THE SPAGHETTI FUNDRAISER IN MARCH, SHOOTOUT TOURNAMENT IN MAY OR VARSITY/JV BOYS OR GIRLS CONCESSION ON HOME GAME DAYS

• SIGN UP SHEETS WILL BE USED TO DOCUMENT WHO VOLUNTEERED-IF YOU DO VOLUNTEER YOUR CHECK WILL BE DESTROYED AT THE END OF THE SEASON

• IF YOU DO NOT VOLUNTEER, YOUR CHECK WILL BE DEPOSITED INTO THE GRALA ACCOUNT

FOURTH PAYMENT,  CHECK - PAYABLE TO GRALA$30.00

• FOR RETURN OF JERSEY/PINNIE AT THE END OF THE SEASON,

• CHECKS WILL BE DISPOSED OF UNLESS JERSEYS/PINNIES ARE:

2017 GRALA FEE, DISCOUNTS AND STIPEND POLICY

FEE DISCOUNTS

• Coach’s Discount - oldest child’s participation fee reimbursed (Youth) at the end of the season, additional children fees at 70% (Youth)

• Board Member’s Discount - after board member serves 1 year in good standing (attending over 50% of meetings) - the oldest youth child’s participation fee is reimbursed, additional children’s fees at 70%

• Family Discount - (parents not coaching or on board) - pay full participants fee registration cost on two oldest youth children, than 50% of registration cost for remaining youth in the program.

• Great Helper Discount - At the board’s discretion, a parent’s youth player participation fee may be reduced based on the amount of assistance they provide to the board and/or program.  This reduction will be a maximum of that given to board members serving in good standing starting in their second year of service (see above Board Member’s Discount)

COACH STIPEND

• Coach stipends will be paid out at the end of the year if the coach has fulfilled their commitment from beginning to the end of the season, reimbursement of player participation fee will also be at the end of the season

• Coach stipends are intended to reimburse the coach for expenses incurred to meet Coaching Requirements of GRALA (US Lacrosse Membership, Background Check, the balance of the stipend is theirs to keep)

• Stipend values vary based on age of player’s coached -  REIMBURSED FEES ARE PLAYER PARTICIPATION FEES ONLY

• GIRLS 10U Head and Assistant $100.00 plus player fee reimbursed at end of season

• GIRLS 12U Head coach $500.00, Assistant coach $250.00, plus player fee reimbursed at end of season

• BOYS U8 Practice 2X Week:  Head and Assistant coaches  $100.00, plus player fee reimbursed at end of the season

• BOYS U10 Practice 3X Week: Head and Assistant $150.00 plus player fee reimbursed at end of season

• BOYS U12 Practice 4-5X Week: Head coach $500.00 and Assistant coach $250.00, plus player fee reimbursed at the end of the season

• BOYS U14 Practice 4-5X Week:  Head coach $500.00 and Assistant coach  $250.00, plus player fee reimbursed at the end of the season

OTHER

• Additional training sought by coaches that requires payment will have to be brought to the board before signing up and the board will consider reimbursement based on the amount remaining in the training budget.

• Gasoline costs only for meetings attended in the metro or possibly in Duluth by either coaches or board members will be reimbursed upon submittal of receipts.  Examples would be scheduling games or rules meetings.  There will be NO mileage reimbursement or gas reimbursement of food per diem for games or practices.
