North Stars Squirts Win "B" Championship
The North Stars Squirt team won the "B" Championship 2-0 over the Ice Dogs from Pa. The road to the Championship game was rough for both teams as neither team had scored a goal. However, this Championship game proved there was a lot of hockey left in both teams.
The first period had a lot of end to end action with good goaltending by each team. The North Stars started getting in the groove in the second period with Quinn Armstrong scoring his first goal of the season. Our second tally was scored by Michael Trasatti (his first goal of the season) in the third period. Shane Stone made some great saves to keep us in the game while our defense limited the Ice Dogs to a few quality shots on goal. The centers and wingers did a good job moving the puck up the ice and getting good shots on goal. The tournament director said this was the best game of the tournament and named Shane Stone player of the game with is outstanding goaltending.
The North Stars had a never give up attitude throughout this tournament and the Championship game showed it.
