2013 Forsyth County Slugfest Supports Northside Babies

The Forsyth County Slugfest Triple Crown Tournament recently presented Northside Hospital-Forsyth with $6,300 for the hospital’s Women’s Center.  The money will be used toward the purchase of additional equipment and supplies for the Center’s evacuation and emergency response preparedness.

This year marks the fifth anniversary of our Women’s Center at Northside Hospital-Forsyth and we’ve seen more than 10,000 babies born,” said Lynn Jackson, administrator, Northside Hospital-Forsyth. “We continue to be amazed by the generosity and support shown to us by the community; we are ever grateful to the Forsyth County Slugfest for supporting of our patients once again.”

This is the third year the Slugfest has supported Northside Hospital babies, with more than $22,000 in donations to date.  The money has been used to purchase educational videos and DVD players for patient use, as well as an interactive newborn simulator, which helps the Women’s Center’s nurses and techs maintain their neonatal resuscitation skills, refine critical-thinking skills and ultimately help improve neonatal outcomes during critical cases

For more information about supporting Northside Hospital, visit www.northside.com.
