PLAYOFFS
2009 playoffs are underway.

Bro's started the playoffs off with a solid 7-2 win over Old Mt.

T-Cole led the way going 3-3 with a walk, 3 rbi's, 2 runs scored and a sweet delay. Hoppy also had 3 rbi's, going 3-4 with a 2 run triple. Rossi came out of his shell a tad, blasting a trip of his own and swiping a bag while scoring 3 runs.
Creme de la Craem got the nod and tossed 7 1/3 scoreless while the Bro's offense did work and Stig came in to finish the game off.

Game 2 Bro's was the victim of a hard fought loss, 4-0 to Allies.
While managing 13 baserunners Bro's had a tough time moving runners around with some solid defensive play by the opposition.
Lus salted his way through 6 2/3 and Nizzy chedded his way through the remainder.

Do or die game 3 Brosephs came away with a 4-1 victory against the Seawolves.
Digi started the Bro's offense in the 1st with a 2 run blast in the schrubs to right following 1 of 2 Naylor doubles on the day. Hoppy and Jacko both went 2-3 with a double and single each.
Chris V went 8 and Phil deezy toed the rub in the 9th to shut the door.

Game 4 is Thursday night @ Davis Park in Providence, 7:30.

SWEET VICTORY
BOP came up big last night with a nice win against Lama & Sons.
Shutting out the Lamas seemed to be no issue for Bro's starter Ryan Lussier. Allowing only 6 runners to touch base all game while salting 9 k's in 8 innings of work.  Stig came in the 9th to seal the deal with 2k's and a grounder.
The offense was consistantly productive drawing walks and getting timely hits while tiring out the Lamas pitching.

Bro's will be wrapping up the regular season this week with a 2 game homestand.
Tuesday 7:30 vs Old Mt
Wednesday 7:30 vs Westcott

Regional gameplay begins Saturday, location and time TBD.

PLAYOFF PUSH
The regular season is coming to an end which means playoffs and regionals are right around the corner.
Since returning from Albany the teams performance has improved.  Offense has been averaging 9 hits per game while pitching has allowed only 5 earned runs.

So far this week Bro's has 1 victory coming Thursday night vs. the Seawolves.  Bro's had 13 hits and plated 10 runs.
Contributing in the outfield for the first time since high school Phil Davidson went 3-4 and scoring 2 times. Obviously being a BP pro paid off in his case. During a post game interview he assured everyone that  " I am only 1 man, I can only do so much to help the team win"  while also making it clear  to  "get there early because daddy is hacking"
Bros followed that victory with a heartbreaking loss to Lama & Sons on Friday night.

Tonight Bro's will be seeking revenge against Lama, squaring off at McCarthy Stadium at 7:30

THE BRO'S ARE BACK
BOP returns to R.I with a 3rd place finishing in the 10th annual Albany Baseball Fest.

This was just what the team needed. A weekend of stress free baseball away from league play to chill as a team and get back to the way Bro's knows how to play baseball.
The bats were alive, pitching was on point and the defense was sharp like some stashes.
Team morale was high and the timing could not be better.  With the playoff stretch and regionals ahead were just getting warmed up.

Congrats to TK and Jack for winning the annual BOP in Albany mini golf tourney this year. Especially since they finished DFL last year.

BOP picks up action again on Tuesday the 14th at McCarthy.

Albany Baseball Fest
BOP is off to compete in the 10th Annual Albany Baseball Fest this Week.

Game results will be updated when possible.

Who wants a mustache ride?

Go Bro's!

HALFWAY POINT...
The halfway point of the season is upon us already.  It feels like the season started yesterday.
Bro's has been on a rocky road so far this season losing more games than the past 3 seasons combined just about.
There has been positives and the second half is looking promising.  The bats seem to be warming up though and the pitching is solid. Especially from the younger wings in the bullpen holding teams at bay to get us back at the plate.
Things are surely going to heat up  and the Bro's you all know and love will be ready for playoff and regional action.

The week of the 10th Bro's is off to Albany NY for a weekend tournament. Hopefully the R&R from league play and the different competition jump starts our 2nd half.

Stay tuned for an interesting 2nd half!

Opening Week
Rust, barnacles, dust, whatever you want to call it, were all present in the first 2 games of the BOP season.
A rocky first game ending in a 4-2 loss to the Old Mountain Turks was an obvious dissapointment. Bro's was held to 3 hits the entire game and allowed  2 earned runs on 7 lousy noodles.

The second game of the week against the Seawolves was a wet one, dealing with the mist, base on balls, lengthy innings, unintentional target practice, errant throws all over the diamond and not so warm weather automatically achieved barn burner status.  However the bats came alive and achieved a triple double. 12 hits, 12 runs, 12k's.  Defense had a tough time with the wet grass though and balls were not necessarily dry for the pitchers.  Despite allowing 10 runs in this debacle Bro's walked away with a victory 12-10 splitting the first week.

Back on the diamond next week.  Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Bro's goes perfect through playoffs to capture Championship #3
BROTHERS OVEN CAPTURES 2008 RIABL CHAMPIONSHIP

August 18, 2008

Game 1 saw Phil Davidson yeild a single unearned run and four hits to stymie Westcott for a 2-1 win. Westcott starter David Palms surrended a pair of lead-off 5th inning basehits to Nick Marzilli and Jon Roberts followed by a pair of squeeze bunts for the only runs of the contest. Bros closer Eric Gelsomino slammed the door in the 9th by striking out the side.

Game 2 feature a scoreless match-up better Eric Koutros and Ryan Lussier for 4 innings, before Koutros' former Eastern Connecticut teamate Adam Hevenor plated a pair of Bros runners with a 5th inning double. Ryan Nisbet releived Lussier in the 8th with a 4-1 lead, and recorded a 2 inning save to secure Brother's Oven's 3rd RIABL title in 5 years.
