Kolsen of the Pirates is shown here sliding into home early on in the state tournament's second round game July 29 in Hawley. Kolsen made a similar slide into home in the bottom of the sixth inning with two outs when Dylan drove him in to win 14-13 in a thrilling finish.

The JNBA Midget Champs and the District Champion Pirates beat Hawley July 29 in the second round of the TTAB State Tournament.

The Pirates dropped their second loss in the fourth game to DeLeon to make a late exit from the tournament.
