***ONLINE REGISTERATION UP AND RUNNING***

We now have online registration up and running!!!.....sorry for the delay in turning on our online registration!  We are in the process of changing website host and have a new registration system.  Under the new system, all players have to be registered online (Registering at MDYB or if at home over the internet the players information has to be input into this system).  You will be required to create a account and input your normal application information.  This new system will allow MDYB and your coaches to better communicate with you and get you information faster.  Another advantage to this new system is that at your next registration (Fall Ball or Next Spring) there will be minimum information you will have to input.

***NEW MIDLAND SPORTS COMPLEX APPROVED BY LEXINGTON COUNTY***

We would like to thank everyone for coming out to support Midland Sports in the Lexington County Pubic hearing.  The Third and final reading for the Ordance 13-08 was read on November 12, 2013 and was approved.   Lexington County Youth Sports Programs were well supported in standing room attendance (inside and outside the building). The room in which the hearing was conducted in was completely filled, the lobby of Lexington County building was full and the doors had to be shut due the outcome of supporters from all avenues of Lexington County Youth Sports Programs (Midland, Gilbert, White Knoll, Lexington, Swansea, etc.). The Bond requested $5 million for a NEW Midland’s Sports Complex with baseball, youth football and soccer facilities in the existing area. The media asked question to the Lexington County Council if they had ever had a outcome of this magnitude, their response…not since I have been here. The vote was unanimous in favor for the $23 million bond to build/improve more youth sports facilities and senior centers in Lexington County.

Here are a few of the pictures that were posted on the State Newspaper website. Click the link and view some of the pictures....you may recognize a few of the faces.

***LEXINGTON COUNTY COUNCIL VOTE FOR NEW MIDLAND SPORTS COMPLEX***

There is an upcoming vote/public hearing with the Lexington County Council that needs our support and attention.  The Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission is asking for a $23 million Bond to build more youth sports facilities and senior centers in Lexington County.  Our Midland Baseball, Midland Softball, and Midland Football Facilities/Programs will benefit from this Bond if approved.  The Bond is requesting/proposing $5 million for a NEW Midland’s Sports Complex with baseball, youth football and soccer facilities in the existing area.  Further, the current Midland Complex had the canteen and a baseball field upgraded a few years ago, and with this bond, the existing complex will be converted for the Midland’s softball program currently located at Bray Park.  There will be a Public Hearing on October 29, 2013 at the Lexington County Administration Building (212 South Lake Drive, Lexington) at 6:00 PM and your presence is needed and requested.  You will be able to sign a form of support at that time.  We need to show the Council members how much we support and need this complex for our youth and community.  Please do not underestimate how important your attendance means to ensure a positive outcome.

We encourage you to email/mail/call our district representatives, Councilman Cullum and Councilman Keisler, as well as other members of Lexington County Council for their support of this proposal.
