Bayshore Little League Info
Welcome to the Website of Bayshore Little League. Started in 1953.
We are a District 19 league formerly known as Keyport - Union Beach Little League first chartered 1957 as Union Beach LL. It became Keyport-Union Beach LL in 2000, and Bayshore LL in 2007. We chose the name Bayshore LL as we now have Keansburg and Hazlet in our territory. Our mission is to provide the best Little League baseball and softball experience we can for our players. Our Board of Directors, coaches and parents all combine to achieve this goal together for our players.
Anyone interested in becoming a player or coach contact us. Players must be 5-18 years old and reside within the league boundary. This boundary reaches from Keyport, Union Beach, Hazlet and Keansburg.
Don't be misled by other league using Our Bayshore name in their ads. We realize there are other leagues in this area, we simply offer to players the Little League experience.
Check the Upcoming Events section at bottom of this page, handouts, news and schedules. Use the Teams, Contacts, Links, Sponsors, Fields links here, or more on the left side bar. There are games, weather updates, field directions, as much as we can provide for you to know what Bayshore LL is doing for the players. We will update this site for the parents and players as much as possible. Keep checking the General Calendar and News/Information for league info.

Gift Wrap Fundraiser, workduty opportunity for 2010
November 28, 2009
Bayshore Parents,
We will be holding a "gift wrapping" fundraiser at Barnes & Noble for the holiday season on Sat 11/28 & Sun 11/29 between 9am & 10pm. We
are looking for parents to volunteer their time as the children cannot do the wrapping. The day will be broken down into 2 - 4 hour blocks depending upon how many people volunteer. We are looking to have 3 people for each block. I am starting with the following 3 - 4 hour blocks:
Block 1 Block 2 Block 3 Block 4
11/28 9am - 12pm 11/28 12pm - 4pm 11/28 4pm - 7pm 11/28 7pm -10pm
Block 5 Block 6 Block 7 Block 8
11/29 9am - 12pm 11/29 12pm - 4pm 11/29 4pm - 7pm 11/29 7pm -10pm
Please email Michele at bayshorelittleleague@gmail.com & let her know which date & block is good for you. If your day is open & it doesn't matter what block your scheduled for, please state that. It will be of great help if there is a block that no one else can choose.
Anyone who volunteers will have this time applied toward their hours required to fulfill their work bond refund if their child signs up for the spring season. Putting in 2 -4 hours will not completely satisfy your work bond requirement.
Canning & cookie sale at ShopRite Hazlet
December 5, 2009
Players and parents, we need your help canning at ShopRite Hazlet on Saturday, December 5 or Sunday December 6 from noon to 4pm. Events like this help us keep the registration fees down, and we look to improve things again for the players for 2010. We also look forward to hosting a District tournament this summer. With your support we can do even more for the players. Come give us a hend. When the parents pitch in, the kids win.

RAIN Policy
May 8, 2009
Majors and Juniors games on away fields check home field websites. See our links page. It can be raining in Union Beach and clear in Marlboro or Long Branch. Games on our fields check our website or managers judgement. Managers are to keep player safety in mind and not to destroy field. If postponing game, make sure all players are notified. Managers will repair any damages they make to fields. Remember to rake clay into the puddle, not out of it.
Parents, we build games into schedules expecting a rainout or 2. Players will get plenty of baseball or softball. Please be patient with coaches, we can't control the weather.

Congratulations to each of the division champs: Softball- Jamie Lewandowski, Minors- Devon Meza, Majors- Matt and Juniors- Joe.

Responsible Sports Coach Tip of the Week
October 20, 2009
Youth athletes often fail to understand the importance of stretching routines, so make them dynamic and fun by giving the stretches funny names or turning them into competitions.Stretching routines are one way to keep your players safe for the long-term.BR>
Remember, athletes don't care what you know unless they know you care. Show respect and learn something about who your athletes are as people, not just as players.
The next time you're officiating your own team's scrimmage, intentionally make a bad call. Some of your players will react negatively. Call timeout and remind everyone to respect officials, even when disagreeing with the call. Additional tips and advice, including downloadable one-pagers you can take to practice and post for reference are available at ResponsibleSports.com.
Responsible Sports Parent Tip of the Week
October 20, 2009
Encourage your child to compare her performance to her own past performance. What can she do now that she could not do two weeks ago? Never try to get your child's attention while he's competing. Even if you're trying to help, you'll be distracting him from focusing on the game.
If you want to be involved in your child's league, but you don't want to coach, there are many other opportunities. Organizations are always in need of new board members and volunteers. Ask how you can help!
Talk with your kids about what being a good and positive teammate means.
When you see that your child is disappointed after a game, resist the urge to jump in to try to fix things. Let her know you are there if she needs you, but give her room to sort through it on her own.
BR>Additional tips and advice, including downloadable one-pagers you can take to practice and post for reference are available at ResponsibleSports.com.
