Grove City Dodgeball has a storied history that dates back to the fall of 2007. Seven teams participated in the inaugural league that featured grueling 40 minute matches and nightly double headers. This league featured an Open Division with no gender restrictions. Average Joe’s defeated Those Guys in the championship match that season.

Rules changes were made following the season. The current Modified Co-Rec format was adopted which increased the number of female players. The first World Championship of Competitive Dodgeball was held on March 21, 2008. 8 teams battled for the title of World Champions. Average Joe’s defeated Schall’s Tires in the final to claim the prize.

Dodgefest 2008 saw the crowning of a new champion. Original “7" team Backwoods Boys won the crown with miraculous bracket play.

The 2008 league featured 12 teams fighting for the prize. Deadhorse defeated Those Guys in a grueling 40 minute duel to become the champs.

The 2009 World Championship of Competitive Dodgeball was held on April 10, 2009. Deadhorse, with only 3 males, defeated the Backwoods Boys in the finals with strong play from national championship team members.

Dodgefest 2009 had a dramatic finish. H2O squad defeated Monarch's Militia in a 3 game match that was tooth and nail to the final elimination.

    Legends

Dave Barnes - Backwoods Boys: Mr. Barnes broke his arm in a non-dodgeball related accident. 3 days after the incident, Dave attempted to play dodgeball but was unable to grip the ball. In true dodgeball spirit, Dave used a knife to cut the cast off and proceeded to play.

Keith Mercer - Duck Dodger's of the 24 1/2 Century: Mr. Mercer recieved an unfortunate shot to the face during a dodgeball game that resulted in the shattering of one of his contact lenses. Instead of rushing to the hospital, Keith continued to play the rest of the night with the torn contact lens still lodged in his eye; he would later find out that the shattered contact lens caused him to have a scratched cornea.

    NADA National Championship Teams:

2008 Nada Winter Indoor National Championship Co-Rec Third Place: Ithen Global Hardcore Tees

2009 Nada Winter Indoor National Championship Co-Rec
    National Champions: Mostly Harmless
